Position reporting to the Head of Export Control Programme Office.

Airbus Group is committed to conducting its business with honesty and integrity, in accordance with all local and international laws and regulations.  The Export Control Programme Office is responsible for overseeing and promoting the Airbus Export Compliance Programme and ensuring it is implemented in a coherent and pragmatic way across the Group. In particular the Head of the Export Control Programme Office ensures that the key elements of the Airbus Export Control Programme are properly implemented.  Ensuring that US and national regulatory requirements, including but not limited to classification, are properly understood and applied across the Company is a key element of the Programme.

The Export Control Manager - Classification and regulatory policy is responsible to support the development of classification strategies and solutions, ensuring they are properly defined, communicated and deployed accordingly to Export Control D&M. They are tasked with coordinating cross divisional task forces on key regulation issues, and first and foremost on Classification.

Your challenges:

  • Oversee the implementation of Airbus Export Control policies and procedures as required, ensuring classification requirements are updated and relevant.

  • Interacting with All regulators and agencies by liaising with them on Classification queries and other general export control concerns. Monitoring changes to export laws, regulations, and policies and assessing potential impacts on products and businesses as well as ensuring regulatory changes are properly implemented within the Export Control Compliance Programme. 

  • Working with operational Export Control teams to provide support, guidance to functions and domains for classification implementation on Airbus made products.

  • Working with procurement to ensure that relevant Export Control Classification Documentation (ECCD) is obtained from suppliers and records are properly maintained, as per Airbus Export Control policies and procedures. 

  • Provide advice on the development of technology to support classification and regulatory requirements.

  • Continual tracking of the evolution of export regulations and their impact on internal controls and policy, to ensure that changes in Export Control Classification Numbers are correctly understood and effectively managed.

  • Developing and delivering export control classification and regulation training to business functions in line with the training strategy and plan.

  • Ensuring implementation and continuous evolution of Airbus’ Export Control Compliance Programme.

  • Assisting operational export control teams and business functions with Export Control assessments of projects, export classification determination/validation of goods (hardware, software, technology) and services, sanctioned/restricted parties, and license requirements and applications.

  •  Work closely within the divisions, with relevant functions, people and external auditors to ensure that they are able to fulfil their requirements for export compliance.

Your boarding pass:

  • At least 5 years working in a multi-national and engineering and / or Export Control, classifying products according to US, EU and national Export Control regulations or similar experiences.

  • Ability to be able to classify Hardware, Software and Technology under multiple jurisdictions and Regulations.

  • experience of Classification requirements and its application into the business

  • Good knowledge of US, EU and national Export Control rules and regulations generally.

  • Good communication skills; sound business judgement; ability to appropriately involve others in consultations and decisions;

  • Excellent writing skills required to write and edit policies and procedures, reports and memorandums;

  • Strong relationship building, networking, interpersonal and communication skills;

  • Languages: Commercially fluent in English; French, Spanish or German is considered a plus.
