    Job description

AFP, one of the world’s leading news agencies, is seeking a digital verification journalist with strong digital investigation and precise writing skills to join its Jakarta bureau to report on disinformation in Indonesia.

The role is an exciting opportunity to be a part of AFP’s fast-growing fact-checking network, which has seen it take a leading role in the global fight against disinformation.

The successful applicant will be required to write fact-check reports in English and Bahasa Indonesia about disinformation circulating in the region. From time to time, he/she will also be encouraged to pitch and write stories on misinformation for the wire.

In an ever-changing media environment, the nature of the job could evolve in line with coverage demands and the requirements of an increasingly diverse client base. While the journalist will specialise in fact-checking, duties will also extend to other reporting roles in the bureau depending on the demands of the daily news coverage.

Moreover, successful applicant will contribute to the fight against misinformation and ensure he/she is trained in the various methods of online verification. Online training is available here
