The position

Job description

As a Member of the Cell/Module Team responsible for the design and development of Lithium-ion battery Cell and Modules.

You will be in charge of :

  • As support technical interface to customer from concept phase to SOP for Battery Development, within cross-functional engineering teams
  • Responsible for the refinement of cell concepts during Concept Phase in cooperation with Engineering Centers in Other locations
  • Responsible for alignment of requirement of Cell, Validation, mechanical design, thermal management etc.
  • collaborate in cross functional Team within ACC project teams and acting as Support technical interface to OEMs Engineering Team
  • Maintain scheduled engineering deliveries with support of global engineering team and Design office
  • Participation of cross-departmental regular appointments including preparation and follow-ups and updates
  • Coordination of development measures with the internal development departments including requirements management
  • Detailing and tracking of the cell/module/pack validation and test schedule, evaluation of the test results together with Design office Engineer
  • Support for RFI/RFQ for new projects
  • Identify and implement VAVE cost reductions.

Preferred experience

Knowledge / Know how      

  • Qualification processes for battery system, especially with respect to performance and safety testing
  • Automotive market and applicable standards and rules
  • Li Ion battery product (performances, manufacturing process, expertise).


Experience :

  • Candidate should have a strong knowledge of the automotive development process, the mechanical engineering discipline, and work closely with Design office and processes.
  • 3-5 years of automotive engineering experience preferred
  • Battery system or hybrid industry experience preferred
  • Familiar with battery validation, mechanical design, thermal properties, mechanical assembly and cell design concepts
  • Dimensioning at GD&T tolerance stack-up
  • Detail mechanical aptitude
  • Broad knowledge of engineering materials, mechanical properties and an understanding of the manufacturing processes associated with these materials
  • Excellent knowledge of 3D CAD – Creo, NX, SolidWorks, Catia, etc.


Qualifications :

  • Completed engineering degree in the field of Mechanical /industrial engineering, electrical engineering or comparable (Master / Diploma).
  • Read, write and speak english and german fluently.
