Nicol Daňková, Manager of Cyber Defense Center Monitoring, leads a team of more than 20 distinguished Cyber Security specialists. Their mission is to defend the entire Deutsche Post DHL Group 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. Her team is in the first line of never-ending fights against scammers and hackers who want to endanger the trust and resiliency of one of the biggest logistics companies’ cyberspace.

Her day starts with greeting the team, finding out how they are doing and analyzing the status quo on the battlefield; what new vulnerabilities were disclosed, which threats have appeared, or if anything interesting has been observed.

What she likes most about her job is the fact that there is no chance to fit into stereotypes. Each day brings new challenges, to which her team has to react. Also, the key to being a good defender is to keep track of current trends and technologies – so lots of space to learn!

She started her career with DHL IT Services 5 years ago in IT helpdesk, supporting colleagues from Finland.

Fred is originally from France, and he has been working at DHL IT Services since 2005. He was one of the first employees of the Prague Data Center. Since then, Fred has had the opportunity to try a number of other roles and positions within the company. He is currently leading a large team of 150 people. Most of his colleagues are located in Prague; others are in Germany, India, or Malaysia. His task is to oversee the smooth operation of the entire team and impeccable delivery of global IT solutions.

They successfully implement their projects thanks to the knowledge and experience of colleagues all around the world and use of new types of IT products and applications, whether existing ones or developed by IT Services. For their IT solutions to be successful and to ensure their flawless operation of its divisions, they need the right combination of Project Managers, Architects, Consultants, and Testers.

Frederic likes to spend his time with family and friends. On weekends, he sets out to explore nature and discover new places. He used to play basketball, but he had to quit. However, now he has more time for running and cycling. He enjoys team activities with his colleagues, such as skiing trips, dinners, or cruises on the river Vltava.

Ioannis has moved to Prague from Greece, and he has been working at DHL ITS for more than four years. His first month at the company was a little rough. He accidentally deleted an app for logistics management. However, he more than made up for his mistake the same week when he discovered a major security issue concerning one of the company’s programs. Today, he manages a team that takes care of the systems used by the DHL Express customers 24/7.

He and his colleagues make a great team. They don’t take themselves too seriously and spend time together even outside work. Whenever he isn’t behind a computer screen in his office, Ioannis is learning to ski, plays guitar, or discovers new places. In his free time, he exchanges a mouse and keyboard for a good book or a cup of excellent coffee.

He started in DHL IT Services as a student, and, after a year, he was given the opportunity to work as an analyst. Four years later, he wanted a change, so he applied for the position of an internal consultant and succeeded. Michal determines the needs and requirements of business partners at the start of a project. Based on this information, he proposes appropriate solutions and further oversees the development. He’s responsible for the design and analysis of the required IT solutions, design of apps, development coordination, documentation, and testing.

Michal has already finished several successful projects, such as the Sourcing Portal, a system that is used to approve and manage vacancies. As a Solution Architect and Consultant, he also participated in the creation of the new HR HUB web portal, which allows the employees to access all important HR information easily.

Michal is a connoisseur of music, and he regularly attends music festivals. He can play three instruments – guitar, double bass, and ukulele. For the past 1 year, he has been on business trips to Malaysia, Budapest, and Bratislava, and he went to Cuba, India, and Croatia on his own time. His next destination is China. Among other things he is a real captain and goes yachting with his friends in Croatia in summer.
