Meet Šárka, who commenced her journey with our company as a WAN ordering specialist in 2015. Her leadership and people management skills quickly became evident, leading her to assume a management position where she effectively oversaw a team of 60 talented individuals in Global Operations team. Eventually, she took over the leadership of the Consulting & Deployment team, responsible for the successful deployment of digital products in multiple countries, collaborating with team members worldwide. At the same time, Šárka was also appointed as the 2nd Managing Director of the hub.

In March 2023, Šárka reached another milestone in her career when she became the 1st Managing Director of Digital Hub Brno, while also managing 70 professionals in Global Operations & Services team providing 1st and 2nd level IT support. Additionally, she is the founder of the cherished Children's Days initiative, established in 2017, and actively participates in company sporting events.

Michal comes from Slovakia and came to Brno to study at Brno University of Technology - Communications and Informatics. His journey at Digital Hub Brno started in 2014 in the Global Operations team, where he held the position of Application Hosting Specialist. Shortly after, in 2015, he added people management to his server responsibilities and became one of the team leaders in Global Operations. Year 2019 brought with it a new challenge and Michal became the first person responsible for the establishment of new Azure Cloud Support at Digital Hub Brno. In 2022, his team expanded by 4 people and now he leads a dedicated cloud services support team. Besides IT, he enjoys Italian cars and spending time with his family.

The Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Communications at Brno University of Technology prepared Patrik perfectly for the new era of digitalization. He's career began as a security engineer, where he discovered the potential of this IT field. Over five years, he climbed the ranks to become a team leader of security engineers. When he decided to start looking for new opportunities, Digital Hub Brno came under his radar. Ten years later, he sees cybersecurity as a leader on the IT market. With drastic AI changes and possibilities, massive spreading of social media and their influence during last years, he can barely guess what new challenge will come. Therefore the cybersecurity and information security are will be more attractive.

Coming originally from Bosnia and Herzegovina Haris started working as an aircraft ground handler. With move to Digital Hub Brno he smoothly transitioned into the sphere where he always wanted to work and improve in - the world of IT. Haris has always been interested in languages and new technologies, so he landed as a Support Analyst for UK and NAM countries. Following his passion for languages he moved to German Service Desk just one year later. It wasn't long before he moved to a different department and embarked on a journey of continuous learning and acquiring various IT knowledge and skills, including CCNA, which he currently holds and deals with routers, switches, firewalls, content filtering, monitoring and much more.

In his free time he likes to go to the gym, watch mixed martial arts, travel, spend time with friends and of course play video games. MOBA and adventure games have never let him down.

Marek started in the company in 2017 as Service Delivery Manager, focused on infrastructure projects, where he worked for example on delivery Microsoft updates to all Heidelberg Materials computers globally (approximately 30 000 computers) or working on upgrade of the Active directory environment.

After experience with the infrastructure projects he moved to the application environment and changed the role to Project Manager. Marek worked on establishing a international team to support one of the main reporting application for Ready-Mix business, he managed the rollout of this reporting suite to over 35 countries around the globe together with people from Germany, Australia, Czech Republic & Bulgaria. Recently Marek became Senior Project Manager and works closely with Group Departments to deliver a new complex solution for the Treasury Department. Marek was also one of the founders of our Project Management Office, which is supporting all Projects managers with framework of tools, methods, practices to ensure smooth delivery of DHB's digital projects.

With the infrastructure operations being the main focal point, the IT Analysts and Engineers along with professionals such as Data Analysts, Agile Coaches, Product Owners, and Project Management Specialists deliver the best possible service to Digital Business while helping to reach digitalization as one of the key goals of Heidelberg Materials.

Starting with Global Service Desk on the first level, the multilingual agents lay the groundwork for troubleshooting common everyday IT troubles before escalating them to Global Operations teams on the second level. By contrast, the 2nd level technicians provide 24/7 support on servers, networks, client services as well as applications while monitoring & processing tickets inflows.

More than that, our IT Technicians on the third level focus on cutting edge technologies in addition to ensuring the operational excellence for IT products and services. Hence, the work revolves mainly around digital client services e.g., Active Directory, voice, video messaging; application hosting e.g., cloud, databases, Citrix &Wintel; besides connectivity e.g., network & security. Apart from the infrastructure topics, we are handling application management of HR tools, process mining and ERP Systems.

Additionally, the Consulting & Deployment professionals solely orient to customer consultations on finding and deploying the best products & services while Engineering team, made up of IT technical backbone experts, transforms the innovative ideas into consumable outputs.

Not leaving out the Security Department that is skilled in securing all the data and thus, managing its confidentiality together with Security Engineers. Simultaneously with Agile Coaches & Product Owners and Project Managers we aim to strengthen client relations on the top of securing the complex & smooth running of our Digital Business.
