Zdeněk is our CEO who really knows the Global IT Center like the back of his hand. He worked his way up from a junior position where he started right after finishing VUT Brno through managing Network last level teams to a director of the Global IT Center and all of that still at a very young age. His career path is a really good example of how people can grow in GITC.

Zdeněk is also a passionate wine producer who found himself in producing the natural wine, type of wine made with respect to the environment around. He believes anything we do we have to do the way it survives to the future. And as winemaking has to respect the nature to exist in future, IT itself has to develop and modernize to do so as well.

Graduated from Brno University of Technology, Luboš started with his first work experience in Global IT Center. Passionate about new technologies, he decided to join junior IT team. After short time Luboš was promoted to senior position of IT Specialist for Application Hosting where he proved his technical and also people managerial skills. Soon he became Technical Leader for Windows servers and Vmware and team lead of 8 teammates. Nowadays he is acting as Senior Cloud Specialist, working on operational and project-based tasks.

In his free time, he is interested in implementing smart home and internet of things (automated cameras, lights controlled by voice). He takes care of his brown labrador and likes to read about AI, Machine Learning or neural networks.

Katarína joined GITC in 2018 and after while she became a Team Leader for Infor Suite Application and managed to enlarge the team successfully. During her career she was internally promoted and nowadays she acts as a local manager for more application teams – SAP BI, ACDC Operations, Infor Suite Application and Overarching Products. Together with her team she ensures smooth operation of Infor systems and supports SAP BI, ACDC Operations and Overarching Product teams so they can run their services effectively and with high quality.

Outside of work she loves to cook, which was proved in our internal cooking challenge, except of spending time in a kitchen she enjoys travelling, discovering new places and different culture.

David joined the company almost 8 years ago as Voice and Video specialist in 3rd level team where he supported related infrastructure. Three years later being in operations and also involved in multiple global projects of voice deployments he took his chance and applied for the architecture role in international team of experts for different areas of IT. He was promoted to the role of System Engineer for Communication and Collaboration tools. On this position he became responsible for building new global services and designs with focus on enterprise telephony, contact center and conferencing. Our global IT organization is evolving and on our way to more product focused oriented development and operation of IT services David accepted recently another challenge of his carrier in HeidelbergCement. He switched after more than 10 years from technical subject matter expert role to clearly product management role and now he takes care about Collaborative Workplace as Product Owner.

If you do not find him with his two daughters enjoying his free time then he will probably cook some delicious meal or dance. If you ask him he might teach you some dance as he is dance trainer even longer than IT guy.

Jiří has more than 14 years of experience in the IT industry and the most years of his professional career in GITC. He started on the Global Operations - Beta team. Then became part of the Wintel and Citrix team and soon accepted the Service Owner role. His great continuous work was acknowledged, and Jiří was promoted to Global Deployment Team Manager for Digital Workplace. His technical portfolio consists of Windows Virtual Desktop, Microsoft Teams, Azure Intune, Office 365, Citrix Virtual Applications delivery, and many more.

Outside of work, he loves to spend his time with family, hang out with friends, and play on Xbox. He sees himself as a perfect couch potato.

Global IT Center (GITC) is a central support hub for HeidelbergCement that with 200 employees is able to make a huge impact within the Group by managing the whole IT Infrastructure.

Our IT services are efficient, secure and of high quality. Centralised Service Desk and the multi-lingual agents provide support on first level. Global Operations teams provide server, network, client and application support on the second level and finally, our expert teams focus even more deeply in cutting edge technologies like cloud, virtualisation, network, security, mobile, voice and many more.

There is also Global Deployment Team that ensures that our global infrastructure services are deployed properly. The InfoSec team takes care of security incident management. Our Application Management department is built on SAP BI and Infor Suite Application.

New Data and Software Engineering department was introduced this year with diverse team of SW Engineers, QA Engineers and Scrum Masters. They develop web & mobile applications using agile principles.
