We are seeking a Compliance Officer to lead the development and execution of compliance frameworks for confidential tokens within Zama’s ecosystem. This role blends regulatory expertise, strategic leadership, and technical fluency in blockchain compliance. The ideal candidate will bring significant experience in decentralised digital asset regulation and compliance frameworks, ideally with prior exposure to centralized exchange operations.
You will play a pivotal role in defining Zama’s regulatory posture for privacy-preserving tokenization and guiding both internal operations and external issuers toward compliant adoption.
Key Responsibilities
Design and Lead Compliance Frameworks
Develop and maintain a comprehensive compliance framework for confidential tokens.
Develop the required governance and reporting structures aligned with regulations and with confidentiality and privacy requirements.
Implement Zama’s Confidential Token Compliance
Lead the deployment of the compliance framework for confidential tokens issued by Zama, ensuring confidentiality and legal alignment.
Collaborate with product teams to integrate regulatory safeguards into token standards and smart contract logic.
Provide high-level guidance on policy interpretation, risk mitigation, and regulatory implications of confidential transaction models.
Regulatory Engagement and Reporting
Own relationships with regulatory and supervisory bodies; serve as Zama’s main compliance point of contact.
Coordinate all required reporting to regulators and authorities, including suspicious activity reports, audit documentation, and compliance certifications.
Influence and shape regulatory developments for privacy-preserving technologies in digital assets frameworks and policies.
Advisory Support for External Issuers and Parties
Guide external token issuers leveraging Zama’s token technology in developing and maintaining their own compliance frameworks.
Guide centralised entities in adjusting their own compliance frameworks to properly assess risks associated with the custody and transfer of confidential tokens.
7+ years of experience in compliance, legal, or risk management roles within blockchain, digital assets, or financial services.
Proven expertise in blockchain regulation, including EU and USA frameworks for digital assets and privacy-preserving technologies.
Deep understanding of AML/CFT controls and blockchain licensing requirements.
Prior experience in centralized exchange compliance or digital asset trading platform oversight strongly preferred.
Strong leadership and cross-departmental collaboration skills, able to influence both technical and regulatory stakeholders.
Exceptional communication and policy drafting capabilities.
Preferred Background
Advanced degree in Compliance, Law, or related field.
Experience with privacy-enhancing and confidential transaction systems is a plus.
