The position

Job description

WeWard’ Social team leads the development of social features inside of the IOS and Android apps. As the team’s mobile engineer, you’ll take the reins of building new social experiences and improve the existing ones to supercharge the interaction between the users.

Your Role: As the team’s mobile engineer you’ll be working closely with Product, Design, and Backend teams to deliver high-impact features to millions of users. You’ll be:

  • Developing innovative features around social and redefining how users connect today and tomorrow through WeWard

  • Playing a central role in shaping the social aspect of the app both from an engineering and product perspective

  • Promoting robust and maintainable code

  • Sharing expertise, developing skills collaboratively, and contributing to team knowledge to consistently deliver the best user experience


Preferred experience

Qualifications

  • BS/MS degree in Computer Science or equivalent professional experience.

  • Proficiency in TypeScript. The app is built with React Native and includes some custom native Android and Kotlin modules. Some expertise in Android development with Kotlin and IOS development with Swift is welcomed.

  • Strong understanding of software development principles, capabilities, and deep understanding of mobile platform capabilities.

  • Ability to understand and debug large and complex code bases.

  • Good team communication and collaboration skills.

Bonus

  • Experience in building mobile apps including social features

  • Experience in a B2C start-up or scale-up

  • Passionate about clean, well-tested, and maintainable code. Takes ownership and pride in code quality.
