WeMaintain

After having grown up in Africa, Germany and France, Benoit started his career at the world’s leading lift manufacturer. He worked for them during 10 years, 2 of which were in France and 8 were in China. In his last position, he was in charge of services in Northern Asia.

Then he headed to Harvard, where the first ideas for WeMaintain, and how to overhaul the value chain in the professional building maintenance sector, were born.

Before creating WeMaintain with her co-partners, Jade spent nearly 5 years in China.

She worked in legal cabinets, where she accompanied entrepreneurs looking to develop in the Chinese or Asian markets.  She is convinced that the tech scene merits more meaningful projects and bigger European startups.

On a daily basis, she is in charge of operations and spends a lot of time working on WeMaintain’s company culture with her two other co-founders.

After 4 years living as an expat in England, India and North America, working on high volume architectures (high frequency trading, VoIP…), Tristan had returned to live in France but it was during a subsequent trip to India that he met Benoit and Jade.

He joined the WeMaintain project as a Co-founder and CTO, to manage the first draft of the platform and to create the technical team.

After spending 6 years working in sales at the world’s leading lift manufacturer and 4 years in a smaller, private, residential energy provider based in Paris, Anthony created his own energy performance company in 2015. He gave that up to join the WeMaintain adventure from its very beginning.

Responsible for sales development of the residential sector at WeMaintain, his mission is to promote this new model to co-ownership associations, co-owners and develop new lead prospection at WeMaintain.

Having fallen into the digital world during his childhood, David had self-taught himself his job before getting his degree.

Numerous digital and video game charity projects and one year of freelance later, he joined WeMaintain in November 2017 as a Software Engineer.

Today, he is Lead Backend in the team of 6 developers, and tasked with putting in place the strongest and most efficient product and job frameworks possible.

Presentation

WeMaintain: we rise by lifting others.

A startup in lift maintenance…not very exciting? In fact, yes it is! In a huge but old-fashioned market which is controlled by 4 actors, WeMaintain is working to rethink the business model. The team is at the beginning of an adventure which will see them become a major actor in European Proptech.

Their model is revaluing the mechanics’ work, adding a lot of new technology, and allowing their clients to obtain a quality service.   They provide the mechanic with a mobile app which allows them to work autonomously and be directly in contact with the client, and allows the client to stay up to date on all work done on their lifts.

Created in 2017, WeMaintain has already raised 8.8M€ (with Idinvest Partners and Raise Ventures). Their solution has been adopted by co-ownership associations and big accounts (Groupama, Allianz, AG2R- LA MONDIALE…) on numerous office buildings.

What they are looking for

The three founders, Jade, Tristan and Benoit, started their careers abroad and have returned to France for this opportunity. Today, they are accompanied by a team of 30 different people (devs, sales, ops, lift experts, old corporate bosses) as they know it is variety that creates a high performing team.

There is not ONE good profile for WeMaintain, but they have three values which are non-negotiable. If you do not share them, then this is not the company for you:

  • CARE (consideration for others)
  • GRIT (ready to go that extra mile, determination)
  • UNIQUENESS (be yourself and bring your own unique traits to the company)

Good to know

  1. At WeMaintain, they are a close-knit team, without being a startup «à la cool». No babyfoot, no pingpong and no aperos every Thursday… They get on without forcing it.
  2. Their slogan: we rise by lifting others!
