Job description

What you will do in this role 🤔

As a Product Designer, you will be mainly in charge to:

  • Contribute to the shaping of our 2 products by working closely with the 2 related squads (Client Experience & Supervisors Experience) and be in charge for your projects of all our design process phases to create intuitive, clean and modern interfaces

→ The goal is for you to take the reins and potentially own one of the 2 products (Client or Supervisor facing) after a few months in the role.

  • Bring your creativity to evolving the branding across the product but also on Growth topics

  • Collaborate on building the new design system

To give you more details on our design process…

  • Identify the problems that need solving

→ Whatever you’ll be working on, there’ll be a pitch to support it. That pitch’s destiny is to become a brief, but for this to happen, you need to help nurture it (making sure the problem has clear outlines), educate it (brainstorm possible solutions), groom it (design a clean way out of this problem) until it’s ready to leave your constant care and become its very best self (implementation is magical y’all).

  • Build a feature from a Pitch (punchline and high-level overview) to Delivery (HQ screens, quick prototypes, specs).

→ Sometimes a Pitch is very clear from the start, sometimes it’s not. One of your responsibilities is to make sure the problem is identified and that you come up with solutions that are viable and make sense.

  • Pristine designs that are practical and look nice.

  • Quick iterative prototypes (when applicable) to verify that a flow works or to showcase a particular interaction.

→ When design is done, you are the warrant for making sure implementation makes sense. That means writing design specs. That flow you have in your head and for which you built screens (key frames) or even prototypes, well, you need to describe how it works for people who weren’t in your head while you were building it.

→ There’s an order in which things happen in a flow, and you’re the director of that flow. The rest of the team needs to know what your vision is to be able to make it real.

→ There are failsafes, obvious corner cases, exits, back buttons, empty states, mandatory fields, and all that jazz. You probably have planned for all of those, that’s where your ability to describe your plan comes clutch.

  • Collaborate with all parties involved to make sure everyone is on the same page and moving towards a common objective. Yes, that means communicating with different types of people at different stages of the design phase.

→ Your fellow teammates have opinions by the million and most assuredly a different point of view. Use them, they cares more than you know.

→ Leadership and vision are shared. You’re the owner of what design you put into the world, which means you have to be able to view that design from different types of perspectives (technical, business, care…) and discuss its ins and outs with the parties involved.

  • Help us to implement a consistent look and feel across our desktop and mobile applications

→ There’s branding available, colors, typefaces, icons, ways to do things and so on. What we ship has to be coherent. Seems obvious, but guidelines don’t build design, you do.

Why joining us?

  • That role is key for Wave and at the core of our strategy to provide our clients a top-notch experience.

  • In the current phase of the company, it is an opportunity to become an owner of half the product, build the design foundations, and impact the future of the company as well as coaching apps as a whole.

  • Wave is a full-remote company by design. We don’t have an office. We enjoy asynchronous communication. We avoid flooding people’s agendas with meetings.

  • Async is great but we still take moments to share, learn and play together to reinforce our bond. Think learning sessions, gaming sessions (we are intense at GeoGuessr!), unforgettable quarterly offsites…

  • A culture that is based on taking charge and empowering teammates.

  • A defining challenge to make a mark on what coaching is becoming.

  • All employees at Wave have equity, we are building this company together so we all get a piece of the pie.

Compensation, Perks & Benefits 🙌🏽

  • 💻 Latest MacBook Pro or equivalent.

  • 🏡 500€ budget to build the best home office set-up.

  • 🏢 Reimbursement of co-working spaces up to 100€ per month.

  • 🩺 Private healthcare 100% covered by Wave for you and your children (We use Alan in 🇫🇷).

  • 🏄🏼‍♀️ Company offsite every quarter.

  • 🌴 46 days of Personal Time Off per year (Public holidays included).

  • 📚 A Blinkist subscription accessible to all our employees.

  • 🧘‍♀️ Sport or well-being sessions delivered by external providers.
