Job description

As Head of People, you will lead and further develop the People function at Wandercraft in a fast-growing, international, and mission-driven environment.

Reporting to the COO, you will manage a team of 5 people composed of 3 HR Officers and 2 Office Managers. Your scope will cover France, Europe and the United States. Building on the foundations already in place, your role will be to strengthen, develop, and make our People function increasingly robust, consistent, and scalable.

You will act as a trusted partner to the Executive Committee (“Comex”) and key leaders, helping them navigate and arbitrate important People decisions with sound judgment, relevant advice, and a strong understanding of business and organizational needs.

While you are able to step into operational matters when needed, your role is primarily to lead, supervise, and guide.

Key responsabilities

Leadership & strategic partnering

  • Lead, develop, and structure the People team, composed of 3 HR Officers and 2 Office Managers.

  • Set clear priorities, clarify ownership, and ensure strong coordination and execution across the full People scope.

  • Partner with the COO, Executive Committee, and key leaders to support and arbitrate key People and organizational decisions.

  • Provide sound, pragmatic advice on sensitive, cross-functional, or high-impact topics.

  • Use People data, metrics, feedback and reporting to support decision-making, identify priorities, and provide leadership with relevant insights on workforce trends, organizational needs, and People priorities.

  • Drive internal communication strategies to ensure transparency and engagement.

  • Drive the adoption of AI and other transformation initiatives within the People function and across the organization, by identifying automation opportunities, enhancing People processes, and accompanying leaders and teams in evolving ways of working.

People operations, compliance & governance

  • Oversee People operations and ensure reliability, compliance, and quality across payroll, HR administration, employee lifecycle processes, and workplace support.

  • Ensure People practices, processes, and governance remain robust, consistent, and scalable across France, Europe, and the United States.

  • Oversee key compliance and governance topics, including labor law matters, employee relations, CSE-related preparation, audits, QMS-related topics, and recurring employer obligations.

  • Ensure the proper follow-up and payment of annual HR- and employment-related taxes and mandatory contributions, in coordination with the relevant internal and external stakeholders in France and the United States.

  • Work cross-functionally with relevant stakeholders, including Finance, on HR-related budget follow-up and reporting when needed.

Talent, performance & career development

  • Develop and scale talent practices across recruitment, performance management, manager enablement, career development, and internal mobility.

  • Assess training needs, then organize and oversee relevant learning and development programs.

  • Redesign Wandercraft’s internal expert career path and strengthen career frameworks to provide clear, credible, and attractive development tracks.

  • Support leaders in making consistent decisions on talent, performance, and development.

Evaluation, compensation & scalability

  • Strengthen consistency across evaluation, leveling, compensation, and benefits practices.

  • Help ensure these frameworks remain fair, understandable, and scalable as the company grows.

  • Contribute to a structured and coherent approach to key People policies and decisions.

Employer brand & attractiveness

  • Shape employer brand and attractiveness, ensuring Wandercraft is visible and compelling to top talent in line with its mission, culture, and international ambitions.

  • Ensure consistency and quality across candidate experience, People communications, and employer brand initiatives.

CSR & ESG reporting

  • Launch, lead and coordinate Wandercraft’s CSR initiatives, in close collaboration with the People team and relevant internal stakeholders.

  • Ensure clear communication and visibility around CSR priorities, actions, and progress, internally and externally when relevant.

  • Own the completion and submission of annual investor ESG reporting and questionnaires, ensuring reliable data collection, coordination across teams, and timely delivery.
