As a Senior Electronics R&D Engineer, you will be at the heart of the development of our embedded systems, from electronic board design through to field validation. You will work in a multidisciplinary environment where technical creativity is encouraged, while ensuring the rigor required to design reliable, robust, and industrializable systems. You will join an experienced team of five engineers and work closely with all company teams, in particular with:
Mechanical team to ensure optimal integration of electronic subsystems,
Industrialization team to optimize costs and define specifications to be passed on to suppliers for volume production of designed products.
Embedded software team responsible for firmware development.
Your responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:
Electronic design of mixed (analog/digital) embedded subsystems.
Schematic design and PCB layout.
Component selection, design analysis, and technical design reviews.
Functional testing, prototype validation, debugging, and problem analysis.
Monitoring the industrialization of electronic boards with the industrialization team and subcontracting partners.
Participation in regulatory testing follow-up (EMC, electrical safety, batteries) and standards-related technical monitoring.
Simulation of complex circuits.
Potential contribution to FPGA developments (VHDL).
Technical documentation, change management, and modification traceability.
Participation in FMEA to identify potential failure sources and define appropriate mitigation measures.
Design and implementation of test benches, both for testing electronic boards and for conducting experiments useful for Wandercraft product development.
Proposing new developments and assessing the technical feasibility of innovative ideas, including patent filing.
Joining Wandercraft means taking part in a unique technological and human adventure. To support our growth and enable us to develop a broader product portfolio, we are looking for dynamic, rigorous, and curious profiles, eager to turn innovation into industrial reality.
In particular, the following qualities are expected for this position:
🧑🎓 Education and Technical Background
With an engineering degree or equivalent in electronics, you are passionate about electronic development and complex circuit design.
As an expert with solid industry experience, you have strong expertise in analog and digital system design, as well as in electronic CAD tools (Altium, KiCad, or equivalent). You have an excellent understanding of EMC, thermal, and electrical insulation constraints. You are able to run simulations to evaluate the performance of your designs. Ideally, you have already contributed to the design of BLDC motor drivers, power hot-swap circuits, and motor encoders. Although not yet implemented at Wandercraft, VHDL developments may be relevant, making this skill a potential asset for the company.
💡 Rigor, Curiosity, and Innovation
You are able to reason in terms of reliability, maintainability, and safety. You can iterate quickly between design, testing, and analysis, and document your decisions clearly. An interest in robotics, medical devices, or complex embedded systems is a plus. You are proactive, able to defend your ideas, and to demonstrate the benefits of a given development.
🤝 Teamwork and Collaboration
You have strong interpersonal skills, enjoy constructive technical discussions, and know how to work closely with electronics engineers, mechanical designers, developers, clinicians, or project managers. You are attentive, pedagogical, and willing to share your knowledge to help the team grow collectively.
