The Role
Experienced Health Physics professional able to lead and develop a team to deliver the highest standards of safety and performance.
As an EDF Core Team Health Physics Supervisor, you will be a vital part of our operational success, ensuring that our resources are expertly managed to meet customer requirements across EDF's UK nuclear fleet. This is more than just a supervisory role; it's an opportunity to influence safety standards, mentor junior staff, and make a tangible impact on critical projects.
Key accountabilities
· Lead a high-performing team: Supervise and mentor a team of Health Physics surveyors, providing guidance and support to foster a culture of excellence.
· Ensure radiological protection compliance: Conduct routine walkdowns and monitor work areas to ensure strict adherence to Health Physics instructions and site regulations across all EDF sites.
· Manage resources efficiently: Effectively allocate personnel to tasks to ensure maximum efficiency and on-site readiness during both outages and non-outage periods.
· Drive operational excellence: Partner with the management team to meet contractual obligations and maintain accountability for team performance and conduct.
· Facilitate communication: Act as a key liaison between the on-site workforce and management, ensuring a professional and timely resolution of any issues.
Operational skills and knowledge
5+ years of experience working on EDF nuclear sites, with a strong understanding of site-specific onboarding processes.
Demonstrable supervisory experience in the nuclear industry, preferably for 5+ years, with a proven track record of successful programme delivery.
Relevant professional qualifications such as City and Guilds / NVQ in Radiation Safety Practice, Stage 1 or equivalent.
A valid IOSH Managing Safely certificate.
Strong knowledge of Health Physics practices and site regulations across the EDF fleet.
A sound basic education with excellent communication and basic computer skills.
