Proposal Advisory & Support

Provide strategic communications advice throughout the proposal lifecycle, ensuring alignment with client expectations and organizational positioning.
Guide proposal teams by reviewing documentation, identifying key requirements, advising on messaging strategy, and supporting planning of proposal schedules and milestones.
Collaborate with other departments to develop well structured, persuasive submissions.
Review and refine high-quality technical writing that strengthens the clarity, accuracy and impact of proposal content.
Support with maintaining corporate resumes, project sheets, and reusable content libraries.
Oversee document control aspects of proposals, including downloading files, managing portal access, and ensuring consistent file organization across platforms.
Uphold corporate branding and visual communication standards for all submission documents.
Demonstrate strong time-management skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure to meet client deadlines.

Communications & Marketing
Develop and implement communication strategies that support business objectives and strengthen organizational reputation.
Lead the creation of internal and external communications, including announcements, newsletters, key messages, and campaigns.
Build and maintain the organization’s brand presence across print, digital, and social platforms.
Plan and deliver integrated marketing initiatives supported by VINCI Construction and other partners.

Preferred experience

The Communications & Marketing Advisor provides strategic guidance and hands-on leadership in communications, marketing, and proposal development across the organization. This role is responsible for developing clear, compelling, and brand aligned messaging for internal and external audiences, supporting company wide communication initiatives, and advising on the preparation and positioning of qualification and proposal submissions.

Working closely with senior management, project teams, and subject matter experts, the Advisor ensures that corporate communications, marketing materials, and proposal content reflect organizational priorities, uphold corporate standards, and support business growth. The role also contributes to the procurement group’s proposal related activities as required.

The Advisor also collaborates closely with sister companies across Western Canada to align messaging, share resources, and support regional initiatives. In addition, the role participates in select communications, marketing, and proposal related projects led by the parent company, VINCI Construction (Americas Oceania Division), ensuring consistency with global standards and contributing to broader corporate objectives.

Essential Qualifications

University or College Diploma in Technical Writing, Journalism, Marketing, or a combination of education and industry experience

2-5 years’ proposal writing experience in the construction and/or engineering industry

Strong experience producing proposals and technical reports in construction or engineering

A proven track record of team collaboration and a passion for building relationships.

Excellent organizational and time-management skills

Solid research skills and ability to validate details to meet key project requirements

Desirable Qualifications
Well-developed understanding of print technologies (offset printing) and impact on the quality of printed documents

Diploma or relevant courses in graphic design

Training in use of Adobe InDesign, Photoshop & Illustrator

 

ADDITIONAL COMMENTS ON THE ROLE/ COMPANY

The Proposal / Marketing Coordinator is comfortable with multitasking and assisting senior management and other members of the Procurement team with rapid turnaround requests for support where required.

Location: North Vancouver, BC

The position is a replacement for maternity leave and it will be a 12-15 months position, depending on the person's start date.
