Job description

Via is using technology to transform transportation around the world. From changing a single person’s daily commute to reducing humanity’s collective environmental footprint — we’ve got huge goals.

As a Strategy & Operations Associate (Driver Operations), you will be instrumental in supporting the daily operations of Via's mobility services across the DACH region. Embedded in the Driver Operations team, you will optimize Via’s driver operations in Germany. Driving continuous improvement, you will collaborate closely with internal teams and external agencies to achieve hiring targets, maintain high driver satisfaction and retention, and ultimately enhance the overall customer experience for our riders.

What You'll Do:

  • Take ownership of Via’s driver recruitment operations for the entire DACH market, focusing on optimizing funnel performance and recruiter output
  • Collaborate with central and local operations teams to define, coordinate, and deliver against operational key metrics such as compliance and engagement
  • Use data to monitor hiring funnels, identify inefficiencies, and implement continuous improvements to boost conversion and time-to-hire
  • Develop and maintain reporting tools and dashboards to support data-driven decision-making and stakeholder alignment
  • Travel ~10% of your time within Germany to support new service launches and connect with local operations teams and drivers – gaining hands-on insights that inform strategic decisions
  • Be ready to roll up your sleeves and dive into hands-on tasks – whether it’s resolving urgent operational issues, supporting on the ground events, or bridging temporary process gaps
  • Support the development and implementation of retention initiatives and proactive measures to mitigate churn in the driver base

Who You Are:

  • You bring 1-3 years of relevant experience, including internships, ideally in a fast-paced, data-driven, or operations environment
  • Fluent in both German (C1 or above) and English
  • Comfortable managing others, with an interest in developing leadership skills
  • You enjoy working with numbers and you’re eager to dig into data to improve outcomes.  SQL and Tableau skills are not required, but are a big plus
  • You communicate effectively and are confident working across different stakeholder groups
  • You’re hands-on, structured, and solutions-oriented – you’re not afraid to take initiative and iterate on processes
  • A team player who thrives in a collaborative, mission-driven environment
  • You thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment where wearing multiple hats and adapting quickly to shifting priorities is the norm

What We Offer:

  • Joining a global employer with over 700 mobility deployments in 40+ countries
  • Becoming part of a company that was awarded for its commitment to social good
  • Salary range: €50,000 to €60,000 a year plus equity - final salary will be determined by the candidate’s experience, knowledge, and skills
  • 30 vacation days a year
  • Urban Sports Club membership
  • A lovely office situated in the heart of Berlin, in Mitte
