We're seeking a highly strategic Senior People Business Partner to empower and elevate our rapidly growing Product, Data, Engineering, and Marketing teams. What You'll Do
Strategic Planning & Execution:
Own the talent strategy for the Product, Data, & Engineering organizations, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives
Partner with and advise leaders on people-related strategy and decisions, including organizational design, planning, policy, and compensation
Collaborate with department leaders to forecast hiring needs based on project roadmaps and data analysis demand
Analyze metrics, people reports, and datasets to identify trends and develop integrated solutions, programs, and policies
Performance Management & Training:
Provide strategic guidance to leaders on all people-related matters, including compensation, talent development, and performance management, acting as a key partner to drive organizational success
Own the performance management process, including annual check-ins
Employee Relations & Coaching
Manage day-to-day employee relations issues
Conduct effective, thorough, and objective investigations
Provide expert coaching to leaders on effective prioritization, stakeholder communication, and team motivation
Offer tailored performance management guidance, including coaching and career development, to managers within Engineering, Data, Product Management, and Product Design teams
Employee Engagement & Culture
Act as an employee champion and change agent as we grow our workforce and expand globally
Lead efforts to create a supportive culture through employee engagement, inclusion and belonging, and rewards and recognition execution
Build relationships with your respective business leaders and attend their team meetings
Develop people-oriented programs to positively impact the employee experience
Compliance
Ensure activities are in compliance with all state and federal employment laws and regulations (e.g., FMLA, ADA, EEO and FLSA)
Your profile
7+ years of progressive HR experience, with a significant focus on supporting Engineering, Data, Product Management, and Product Design teams in a fast-paced technology environment
BA/BS degree or equivalent experience
Deep understanding of the unique challenges and dynamics of engineering and product teams
Experience with Agile methodologies and their impact on team dynamics and performance
Ability to influence managers/leaders with data-driven recommendations to improve performance, retention, and the employee experience
Must be a confident communicator (including both written and verbal) and have the ability to explain complex and/or confidential information as well as effectively communicate with all levels of the organization, including the senior leadership team
Working knowledge of California state and federal employment laws
Demonstrated ability to embody and champion our core values: grounded, expressive, bold, and driven
Bonus if you have
Master’s Degree in Business Administration, I/O Psychology, or Human Resources Management preferred
S/PHR and/or SHRM S/CP certification
Experience designing and implementing compensation strategies for technical roles, resulting in improved talent attraction and retention metrics
For this role, the target base salary range for San Francisco is $148,000 - $185,000 annually, and your recruiter can share more about the specific range for your location. This role is also eligible for equity and benefits. In general, our ranges reflect the minimum and maximum market-based targets for the role based on its level and location and are subject to change. Within the range, individual pay is determined by objective factors assessed during the application and interview process, such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Turo highly values having employees working in-office to foster a collaborative work environment and company culture. This role will be in-office on a hybrid schedule — Turists are expected to work in the office 3 days per week on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Fridays.
