The Mission
As a Research Lead at ThreatMark, your mission is to lead a top-tier team of Data Scientists, Analysts, Engineers, and Researchers to deliver impactful solutions. You will align research with product goals, translate business challenges into technical tasks, and drive projects from idea to production, helping shape our innovation roadmap and strengthen fraud prevention through data science and ML.
You will collaborate closely with Product Management, Software Engineering, QA, and Platform teams, ensuring the seamless integration of research outputs into the product.
Seniority: 10+ years of experience in applied ML, with at least 2 years in a leadership role

You will:
Lead and grow the research team with a focus on ownership and high-impact outcomes
Translate business problems and product needs into research initiatives and measurable outcomes
Prioritize and manage the research roadmap, ensuring timely delivery of solutions with well-defined KPIs
Drive a culture of rigor in experimentation, measurement, and statistical evaluation
Support deep collaboration between research and engineering teams to ensure smooth deployment of models
Promote communication and transparency with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Executive and other company teams
Represent research progress, findings, and insights in leadership meetings and strategic reviews
Stay ahead of the curve on advancements in ML, and cybersecurity threats, and bring innovation to ThreatMark’s core IP
Must Have:
Proven experience leading ML teams through the full model lifecycle – from research and prototyping to deployment and monitoring
Deep expertise in applied data science, ideally in cybersecurity, fraud detection, or a similar high-stakes domain
Strong understanding of model evaluation metrics, experiment design, and statistical analysis
Excellent project and people management skills, including planning, prioritization, and team development
Advanced proficiency in Python and ML frameworks (e.g., scikit-learn, XGBoost, TensorFlow, PyTorch)
Strong written and spoken communication skills in English
Nice to Have:
Hands-on experience with data engineering, big data infrastructure, or MLOps
Experience in a startup or high-growth tech company
Familiarity with ThreatMark’s technology stack (e.g., Python, Kafka, Kubernetes, cloud platforms)
Previous work in cybersecurity, fraud detection, or finance-related ML applications
