Job description
TheraPanacea is an innovative startup that offers AI solutions for radiotherapy to help humanity in the fight against cancer.
We are looking for a research engineer to join our team and help our efforts to develop state-of-the-art dose optimization algorithms (in other words, inverse planning methods) that are essential building blocks of a radiotherapy treatment planning system. Advanced treatment methods (e.g., IMRT and VMAT) require solving high dimensional optimization problems that include dose constraints for the patient and mechanical constraints of the machine.
Preferred experience
A successful applicant has a strong background in classical mathematical optimization and is a skilled computer scientist. He or she possesses the ability to understand and implement scientific papers, especially regarding optimization techniques for inverse radiotherapy planning and developing robust algorithms that can handle the variability in real world cases.
Required qualifications:
- PhD or MSc/MEng in computer science, mathematics or engineering.
- Proven track record of working on state of the art optimization algorithms
- Proficient in python or C++
- Excellent analytical skills
- Motivation for excellence
- English at a conversational level (international team).
Additional qualifications:
- Experience in radiotherapy
- Experience with GPU programming and its usage for optimization algorithm
