The position

Job description

This is an exciting new opportunity to create and develop new products. You will partner closely with Operations, Finance and Compliance to ensure the highest regulatory standards are met.

The role is for a CASS Specialist where the ideal candidates will have strong CASS knowledge, in particular CASS 6, 7 and 8. We are looking for someone to take operational duties within the company, starting from overseeing what is currently been done to leading projects related to new SIPP & ISA products whilst coordinating the systems and control integration with the headquarter in Switzerland.

This role requires a motivated individual to perform key control functions and identify process improvements. Application of technical knowledge to the department’s operation and innovative, solution-based thinking will be a key aspect of the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design and implement a first-line CASS oversight function within operations
  • Perform daily client money and client asset reconciliations
  • Handle escalations for CASS-related technical queries
  • Plan and coordinate internal and external audits
  • Prepare and present CASS adherence reports to senior leadership
  • Act as the principal liaison point with internal partners on CASS matters
  • Advise teams on regulatory CASS activities, including reconciliations, cash management, and deposit allocations
  • Maintain and update CASS policies, Frameworks, and Control Matrix, including monthly attestations and sample testing
  • Serve as the first line of compliance defence by ensuring adherence to business processes and procedures in alignment with FCA and HMRC regulations, particularly CASS and tax compliance requirements
  • Undertake additional tasks as directed by management

 

Other Responsibilities:

  • Maintain and develop relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including Swissquote’s SIPP scheme practitioner, to ensure seamless operational management
  • Open new client accounts per the necessary KYC, AML, and Due Diligence procedures
  • Ensure onboarding and operations are handled efficiently and expediently, delivering exceptional customer outcomes whilst managed within the firm’s agreed policies and procedures and external legal and regulatory environment
  • Authorise client deposits and withdrawals in line with AML and CASS guidelines
  • Ensure the team remain compliant with the FCA and Trustees approach to vulnerable members and customers
  • Stay informed on SIPP, ISA, CFD, and GIA regulations

 


Preferred experience

Key Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent with relevant experience in the banking industry
  • Strong expertise in CASS 6 and 7, and 8
  • Experience in a CASS oversight role
  • Detailed knowledge and prior experience of the UK regulatory CASS environment
  • Proven ability to provide strategic and operational leadership, ensuring effective process optimization and regulatory compliance (e.g., CASS)
  • Highly numerate with proficiency in core systems (Outlook, Excel, Word, Teams)
  • Understanding of operational processes and Client Assets impact on flows
  • Fluent in English (French is a plus)

Desirable Skills:

  • In depth financial services experience with strength in the understanding of a wrap platform
  • Expertise in operations, payments and onboarding within regulated environments
  • Good understanding and experience in UK SIPP, ISA and GIA products with experience in financial services or an outsourced provider
  • CASS CISI qualification, Investment Management Certificate (IMC), Operations Certificate (IOC) or equivalent industry recognised qualification
