Socomec North America (NAM) is Socomec’s organization overseeing all operations in North America.

 

About This Role

The Technical Product Marketing Specialist will be responsible for developing and executing marketing strategies that effectively communicate the technical aspects and benefits of our products to both technical and non-technical audiences. This role requires a deep understanding of the product's technical features, market trends, and customer needs to create compelling marketing materials and campaigns.

Focus will be on Marketing and supporting Powersmiths/Socomec’s PCO products into the Datacenter Market.

Support includes: 

  • Interface between the sales network and business application.
  • Gather and prioritize market trends and customer requirements.
  • Provide operational Technical support and added value to optimize our quotation/offer to the customer.
  • Prepare the quote and submittals (quote, Comply Delete Exception (CDE) documents).

 

Key Responsibilities And Accountabilities

Support Presales: 

  • Support all IT Product & Customer Requirements like Statement of Works, Contracts, or any other legal doc.
  • Advise on technical solution options.
  • Gather & analyze information for decision-making regarding pricing
    • Prepare Submittals for PDUs, STSs and UPSs, in compliance with Master Supply Agreements signed with customers
    • Complete all product finalized documents with CDE responses 
    • Support Sales with technical expertise, quality customer responses to technical issues
  • Provide pricing and quoting of PDU, STS and UPS projects, as well as spare parts.

Marketing:

  • Assist Marketing for any technical support required.
  • Share information and suggestions on customer needs
  • Market Research & Competitive Analysis - To provide insights into the market landscape and help inform product positioning.
    • Analyze competitor products and create comparison reports.
    • Identify opportunities for differentiation based on research findings
    • Conduct research on market trends, competitors, and customer preferences.
  • Product Positioning & Messaging - To ensure clear, consistent, and compelling communication of product value.
    • Assist in developing positioning statements and messaging frameworks.
    • Create product-specific content, including value propositions and benefit-driven messaging.
    • Ensure messaging consistency across marketing channels.
  • Content Creation & Collateral Development - To support marketing and sales teams with high-quality content that drives engagement and conversions.
    • Develop marketing assets, such as brochures, one-pagers, presentations, and case studies.
    • Collaborate with the content marketing team to produce blogs, emails, and social media posts.
    • Maintain and update a repository of product collateral for internal and external use.
  • Go-to-Market (GTM) Support - To assist in the successful launch of new products or features.
    • Support the planning and execution of product launches.
    • Coordinate with cross-functional teams (product, marketing, and sales) to ensure launch readiness.
    • Track and report launch outcomes based on pre-defined KPIs.
  • Sales Enablement - To empower the sales team with the tools and resources they need to close deals effectively.
    • Create and update sales decks, product briefs, and objection-handling guides.
    • Organize and facilitate product training sessions for the sales team.
    • Collect feedback from sales on product positioning and improve materials accordingly.
  • Campaign Execution & Demand Generation - To drive awareness and demand for the product through targeted campaigns.
    • Assist in the development and execution of product-specific marketing campaigns.
    • Collaborate with the digital marketing team to optimize campaigns for better performance.
    • Monitor campaign results and provide recommendations for improvement.

S & Op (Sales and Operations):

  • Coordinate the S&Op with each Strategic Account & globally.
    • Update the orders and coordinate forecasts (models, dates, quantities) as needed.
    • Assist in coordinating manufacturing and supply chain schedules, according to forecasts vs capacities.
    • Propose/negotiate new delivery dates/quantities  (anticipated/postponed) when necessary.
  • Customer Engagement & Feedback - To improve product adoption and customer satisfaction through continuous engagement.
    • Gather and analyze customer feedback to identify product improvements.
    • Support customer success teams by providing product-related resources and content.
    • Help manage customer reference programs and testimonials.
  • Performance Tracking & Reporting - To measure the impact of product marketing initiatives and improve future strategies.
  • Track key performance indicators (KPIs), such as product adoption, campaign engagement, and sales enablement effectiveness.
  • Prepare regular reports on product marketing activities and outcomes.
    • Use data insights to refine product positioning and GTM strategies.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration - To ensure alignment between product, marketing, and sales teams.
  • Act as a liaison between product management, sales, and marketing teams.
  • Participate in regular cross functional meetings to stay updated on product developments.
  • Share product updates and insights with relevant stakeholders.

Engineering:

  • Coordinate with Engineering, as needed, to ensure we meet customer commitments .
  • Propose/negotiate new delivery dates/quantities  (anticipated/postponed) when necessary.
  • Support after sales engineering support as needed.

Essential Qualifications, Experienced Skills

  • Bachelor Degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Familiarity/experience with electrical power distribution systems. 
  • IT savvy and comprehends business systems and procedures.
  • ERP & CRM systems  (SYSPRO & SalesForce).
  • Microsoft Office solutions. (Outlook, Excel, Word, Planning or Planner, Teams).
  • Strong technical writing skills; able to convey concepts in writing concise technical documentation for power conversion and distribution products.
  • Technical project management and scheduling.
  • Well organized and reliable, exceptional follow-up, seeing tasks through to completion.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Strong customer service orientation, confidence when speaking with customers, works well under pressure.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills (verbal & written), ability to collaborate.
  • Demonstrates initiative and a passion for achieving results.
  • Resourceful, innovative and energetic.
  • Confidentiality related to the job (business stakes, contracts, non-disclosure).
  • Must be legally authorized to work in Canada with Ability to travel to international destinations (USA); must possess and maintain a valid passport for international travel.

 

Compensation range: $100,000 - $110,000 CAD
