The position

Job description

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our team as an Executive Project Apprentice at SINGA, an NGO dedicated to promoting the inclusion of newcomers (migrants) via entrepreneurship, community building, and in-house innovation  This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain practical experience in an organization working to foster social connections that empower both newcomers and locals. As an intern, you will work closely with our CEO and COO to support various initiatives and events.

Responsibilities:

  1. Provide general administrative support, including managing emails, and correspondence related to the organization’s activities.

  2. Scheduling and calendar management: organize and maintain schedules, appointments, meetings, and travel arrangements for executives or team members. This includes coordinating calendars, making reservations, and ensuring all necessary arrangements are in place.

  3. Data entry and database management: inputting and maintaining data in spreadsheets, databases, or other software systems. 

  4. Meeting and event support: manage planning, organizing, and coordinating meetings, conferences, and events. This includes arranging venues, coordinating logistics, sending invitations, and preparing materials.

  5. Assist in scheduling and coordinating meetings, workshops, and events.

  6. Support the planning and execution of events, such as community gatherings, cultural exchanges, and awareness campaigns.

  7. Assist in creating and formatting documents, reports, and presentations related to program activities and events.

  8. Conduct research.

  9. Help maintain organized filing systems for program-related documents.

  10. Contribute to program evaluation efforts by assisting in data collection, analysis, and reporting.


Preferred experience

  • Currently enrolled in a relevant degree program.

  • Passionate about the inclusion of migrants, social cohesion, social justice, and empowering marginalized communities.

  • Excellent organizational skills with great attention to detail.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and French.

  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

  • Familiarity with social media platforms and digital marketing is a plus.

  • Ability to work independently, take initiative, and manage multiple tasks effectively.

  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work collaboratively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

  • Prior experience or coursework in event planning, project management, or administrative support is desirable.
