The position

Job description

• Lead the local BD's team addressing their markets and supporting them in their interaction the respective Sales departments
• Identify key decision makers and interact with all main stakeholders of the Indian Defense ecosystem i.e Governmental players as well as Private ones in the assigned key areas and for all product lines.
• Create frequently updated strategic mappings (typically 5 years) of running and future projects per area containing timelines, financial information and further relevant information such as competition moves
• Propose and initiate potential industrial cooperation and partnerships to maximize probability of success and act as representative in relevant associations
• Create awareness within corresponding networks and communities about SAFRAN's capabilities and solutions and position them throughout the project landscape on customer side
• Acquire constant knowledge of technology trends, relative business impacts and opportunities
• Reporting of activities to the SVP International Sales Deployment located in France
• Interaction with sales directors of SED entities around the world but mainly France, Middle East and APAC in order to secure and capture opportunities


• In-depth knowledge of Indian defense decision makers community
• Proven long term track record as active Indian military/agency or industry member within decision makers community
• Proven knowledge of methods and best practices as applied to military sales
• Knowledge of regulation driven procedures and levers
• Knowledge of business management and business administration
• Minimum amount of network already in place within some key areas
• Have an ability to manage, influence and motivate Safran internal stakeholders from Technical, Operational, Commercial and Legal disciplines as well as an ability to structure the capture to successful conclusion
• Some Industrial background will be required to coordinate the localization of such industrial material in the territory
• Can actively promote the Group‘s capabilities
• Can track market dynamics and foster close customer working relationships in order to anticipate future requirements
• Ability to act autonomously but with a clear team focus
• Excellent communication skills and an affinity to present at exhibitions and conferences
• Track and report customer satisfaction
• Knowledge of Safran Electronics & Defense products and technology or a strong affinity and interest to learn
• Ability to work in a complex matrix internal reporting structure
• Ability to work in a multicultural environment
• Networking abilities and strong communicator
• Willingness to travel within India and to other SED locations
• Fluent in English – French as a plus
