The position

Job description

Current monitoring strategies in neurocritical care aim at monitoring the evolution of cerebral blood flows in patients at risk of a secondary brain injury. We are developing a new tool that will enable physicians to perform this examination with ultrasounds and at the patient’s bedside.

The goal of the internship is to convert brain vascular volume from clinical trials to topological skeleton. This skeleton will enable identification of major arteries (e.g. Willis circle, anterior/middle/posterior arteries, carotid), and extract features such as orientation or diameters.

The internship will include:

  1. Review existing 3D segmentation and skeletonization algorithms

  2. Design and implement segmentation and skeletonization pipelines on 3D (or 3D+t) vascular datasets.

  3. Compare results with conventional angiographic imaging (CT scan, MRA).

All software development activities will be done in Python.

Preferred experience

We look for:

  • MSc, Master, or Engineering Degree student ideally specialized in signal/image processing, biomedical engineering or medical imaging.

  • Experience with Python, especially scientific computing (NumPy, SciPy).

  • Experience with data analysis technics, statistics, and imaging processing.

  • Experience in medical imaging.

Who you are:

  • Fluent in spoken and written English. Knowledge of French is a plus.

  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and dynamic start-up environment.

  • Strong autonomy, analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills

  • A committed, enthusiastic person with a “can-do”, creative mindset.

What we offer:

  • A unique experience in a growing Medtech start-up.

  • An opportunity to participate in a high-impact project.

  • A respectful, fun, and collaborative work environment.
