Role Description
The Partner Technical Manager (PTM) is a pivotal position dedicated to enhancing the technical proficiency of Pure Storage’s partner network. This role focuses on empowering partners through comprehensive technical guidance, training, and certification, ensuring they can adeptly deliver Pure’s innovative storage solutions. The PTM acts as a strategic advisor, assisting partners in harnessing Pure’s technology to foster business expansion while also collecting valuable feedback to refine Pure’s offerings and partner initiatives. Success in this role demands profound technical acumen, exceptional relationship-building capabilities, and the aptitude to convey complex solutions effectively.
Key Responsibilities
As a Partner Technical Manager, you will:
- Provide expert technical guidance and strategic support, and enable partners, ensuring they are proficient in deploying Pure Storage solutions.
- Design and deliver training sessions, certifications, and enablement programs to elevate partner expertise and performance.
- Collaborate with partners to develop and execute Proof of Concepts (PoCs) and technical validations, showcasing the value of Pure’s solutions.
- Serve as a technical consultant, aiding partners in architecting and optimizing storage infrastructures utilizing Pure’s technology.
- Collect and communicate partner feedback to internal teams, driving continuous enhancement of product offerings and partner programs.
- Support partner-driven opportunities by leading technical strategies and coordinating with internal sales and engineering teams.
- Stay abreast of industry trends, including cloud technologies, automation, and storage innovations, to provide thought leadership to partners.
Requirements
1 / Technical Skills & Domain Expertise:
- In-depth knowledge of Pure Storage technology, encompassing Scale-Up and Scale-Out architectures.
- Proficiency in storage automation, DevOps, and AIOps methodologies.
- Experience with modern virtualization and cloud environments.
- Familiarity with Kubernetes and containerization (e.g., Portworx by Pure) is advantageous but not required.
2 / Soft Skills:
- Superior communication skills for delivering technical training and partner enablement.
- Fluency in both Swiss-German and French.
- Robust relationship-building skills to cultivate and sustain productive partnerships.
- Capability to effectively present and articulate Pure’s portfolio, Evergreen Storage Subscription Services, and cloud strategy.
3 / Experience:
- At least 3 years of experience in technical pre-sales, partner enablement, or solutions engineering roles.
- Demonstrated success in leading technical teams and executing Proof of Concepts (PoCs).
- Experience in delivering technical training and certifications to partners.
4 / Certifications & Training:
- Industry-recognized certifications in virtualization, cloud technologies, and third-party hardware/software solutions are advantageous.
- Kubernetes-related certifications (e.g., Certified Kubernetes Administrator - CKA, or Red Hat Certified Specialist in Containers and Kubernetes) are a plus, particularly for those looking to support Portworx by Pure.
