Position Summary

The Procurement Manager – Contract Manufacturing oversees procurement coordination across Prose’s contract manufacturing partners producing haircare, skincare, and supplement bases. Operating within a turnkey manufacturing model where Prose retains ownership of its formulas, this role works closely with contract manufacturer procurement teams to ensure materials, purchase orders, and production schedules align with Prose’s business priorities. The role partners cross-functionally with Supply Planning, R&D, Quality, and Finance to resolve operational issues, support new product launches and formulation updates, and ensure smooth manufacturing execution.

Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary procurement point of contact with contract manufacturing procurement teams.

  • Coordinate with contract manufacturers to ensure purchase orders and production schedules are aligned with Prose business priorities.

  • Monitor production readiness and proactively resolve procurement, supplier, or operational issues that may impact batching schedules or on-time finished goods delivery.

  • Partner with Supply Planning and Operations teams to align production priorities and manufacturing timelines.

  • Support new product launches, reformulations, and production ramp-ups across contract manufacturing sites.

  • Collaborate with R&D and internal stakeholders to ensure smooth implementation of formulation or supplier changes.

  • Ensure purchase orders in NetSuite are accurately maintained and updated to reflect the latest production schedules and changes from contract manufacturing partners.

Key Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Operations Management, Supply Chain Management or equivalent.

  • 5+ years of procurement, supply chain, or contract manufacturing management experience.

  • Experience working with contract manufacturers or third-party production partners.

  • Strong understanding of raw material procurement and manufacturing supply chains.

  • Experience in the beauty, cosmetics, personal care, or supplement industry preferred.

  • Attention to detail and a high degree of accuracy and organization.

  • Ability to function both independently and as part of a team; must be flexible and excited to grow with the organization.

  • Excel/Google Sheet proficiency.

  • Experience managing multiple vendors or supplier relationships.

  • Strong critical-thinking skills with a solution-oriented mindset.

  • Highly knowledgeable about industry best practices.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.

  • Experience with NetSuite or similar ERP platform.

In the New York Area, the anticipated base salary range for this role is $100,000 to $105,000 annually (+10% discretionary bonus and equity). Actual compensation will be commensurate with experience, qualifications, knowledge, and skills.  This role will be a hybrid position based out of our Industry City, Brooklyn office and the expectation is that this person will be in the office 3 days per week.
