The position

Job description

As a Supply Manager Intern, you will join our Operations Team in Paris and work closely with Frédéric, our Head of Business Operations.

Within the Business Operations team, your mission will be to prevent stockouts, keep spare parts inventory low, and contribute to controlling overall costs. At pony, we believe every second counts. In supply, this means anticipating needs, reacting fast to delivery issues, and making sure our fleet is always available for riders.

You’ll have the chance to contribute to exciting projects right away, such as rolling out our new supply model and supporting the launch of e-scooters in Bordeaux, projects where your work will have a direct and tangible impact.

Preferred experience

  • Inventory & supply flow management: Make sure our spare parts are always available at the right time, anticipate needs to avoid stockouts or overstocking, keep reporting clear and simple, and work closely with our operations and hardware teams.

  • Analysis and optimisation: Refine our consumption forecasting model and analyse high-impact consumption patterns for pony (e.g., economic stakes or significant stock variations).

  • Procurement & negotiation: Ask for quotes, negotiate terms, place orders, and challenge our suppliers to get the best quality/price/lead time balance.

  • Shipping coordination: Oversee deliveries, coordinate with carriers, and anticipate potential delays or issues (customs, disputes, etc.).

  • After-sales & quality management: Handle non-compliance issues with care, collect field feedback, and manage supplier claims through to resolution.

  • Stock valuation and invoice: Help monitor and update stock levels (actual and forecasted) to keep inventory valuation accurate. Maintain tracking tools and support invoice management and payment follow-ups as needed.

  • Process design & purchasing strategy: Help define our purchasing policies, improve the way we already do things, and bring fresh ideas to make us even more efficient.

Profile

Education: Enrolled in a top engineering or business school, looking for a gap year or final-year internship starting in december. A focus on supply chain or procurement is a plus.

Project management: Able to support and coordinate projects, set priorities, track progress, and anticipate potential issues.

Purchasing: Interested in negotiation and supplier relations, willingness to participate in discussions with suppliers, help gather information, and support decision-making

Rigor & attention to detail: Follow processes carefully, ensure accuracy, and understand the importance of reliability in supply operations.

People skills: Communicate clearly, collaborate across teams, and build constructive relationships with colleagues and suppliers.

Recruitment process

  • Initial call with Laura, HR: a 30-minute conversation to align on expectations

  • Culture fit test: A short written exercise (10 minutes) to assess alignment with our values

  • Case study & Manager interview with Frédéric, Head of Business Operations: a hands-on exercise to assess your technical skills, followed by a discussion to present your results and go deeper into the role and expectations.
