The position

Job description

As the Lab Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth and compliant day-to-day operation of the laboratory. Your role will focus on maintaining optimal laboratory performance, supporting scientific teams, and guaranteeing adherence to safety, quality, and regulatory standards as follow:

1. Laboratory operations management

  • Ensure preventive and corrective maintenance of equipment.

  • Guarantee the compliance of installations with safety standards and regulatory requirements.

  • Manage supplier relationships and oversee service contracts (maintenance, lab coats, waste management)

2. Supervision and support of scientific activities

  • Assist researchers, technicians, and students in daily operations

  • Support and advise the automation team in order to introduce automation technologies to improve efficiency in the lab

  • Organize and deliver staff training on equipment, procedures, and safety

  • Implement and monitor good laboratory practices

3. Administrative and budget management

  • Contribute to annual budget planning and monitor expenses

  • Oversee purchasing, inventory, and supplier invoicing

  • Serve as liaison with external partners

  • Maintain accurate records and documentation (protocols, safety data, reports)

4. Safety and compliance

  • Ensure adherence to HSE regulations and internal safety policies

  • Participate in the implementation of internal and external audits.

  • Manage chemical and biological waste according to standards.

5. Quality assurance and pharmacovigilance

  • Conduct internal production audits and implement quality improvements

  • Oversee pharmacovigilance activities to ensure regulatory compliance


Preferred experience

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (or equivalent) in biology, biotechnology or related field, with 2+ years of lab operations experience including team supervision

  • Strong knowledge of HSE regulations and laboratory safety standards

  • Proven ability to manage equipment maintenance, supplier relationships, and procurement workflows.

  • Excellent organizational, communication, and leadership skills

  • Fluent in French & English
