The Bioinformatic Intern will contribute to the development of robust bioinformatic pipelines for phage training and recombination detection, and phage lifestyle prediction, while also assisting the BioInfo team with daily operational tasks.
🧩 Main Responsibilities
Assist in developing and maintaining bioinformatic pipelines for phage genome analysis and lifestyle prediction
Support data processing, quality control, and annotation of bacterial and phage genomes.
Contribute to testing and validating of computational tools
Help organize and document code, results, and datasets using version control practices.
Collaborate with the Bioinformatics team on ongoing research and operational tasks.
Nextflow pipeline development (required)
Python and/or R programming (required)
Git version control (required)
Bash / command-line proficiency (required)
Understanding of NGS data and genome assembly (bacterial or phage preferred)
Clear and proactive communication
Strong motivation to learn, improve, and achieve results
Fluent in English (written and spoken)
At least 1 year of experience building or contributing to Nextflow pipelines
Practical experience with NGS genome assembly (bacteria or phage)
Master 2 (M2) student in Bioinformatics or related field
