Roles and Responsibilities

Data Science is one of the foundational pillars of Paylead. Our Data team has developed the tools and processes that enable us to handle large volumes of transactions while personalizing and optimizing the experience for all stakeholders—banks, merchants, and consumers alike.

We’ve particularly excelled in developing advanced NLP techniques to analyze payment transaction descriptions, giving us a unique edge in understanding financial data.

In this context, we’re looking for a Data Scientist to help us build and enhance our deep learning models dedicated to banking transaction contextualization. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technology that directly impacts how financial transactions are understood and processed.

You’ll be joining an ambitious and experienced team of data scientists, ML engineers, and backend developers who are passionate about pushing the boundaries of what’s possible in financial data science. We believe in fostering a collaborative environment where your ideas will be heard and your contributions will make a real difference.


Preferred experience

Hard Skills

  • You have solid machine learning expertise (mathematical intuition behind key algorithms, performance metrics, limitations) and strong statistical knowledge (hypothesis testing, randomized experiments, etc.). You’ve particularly specialized in Deep Learning.

  • You’re proficient in TensorFlow, Python, and the standard Data Science libraries.

  • You care about code quality and performance optimization.

  • You have foundational SQL skills.

Soft skills

  • Scientific rigor and methodical approach

  • Business and product awareness – you understand how your work impacts the bigger picture

  • Intellectual curiosity and a genuine passion for learning

  • Self-driven and autonomous work style

  • Fluent in both French and English
