We have an exciting opportunity available to join our team on a full-time permanent basis as a Legal & Compliance Manager.
The Legal & Compliance Manager is responsible for providing commercial and practical advice on legal, regulatory and compliance matters across a broad spectrum of corporate and commercial activities, enabling the business to achieve its strategic objectives.
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
Maintaining and enforcing Nexans Group’s General Management Procedure guidelines, Nexans standards and all regulatory requirements.
Assist in drafting, reviewing and negotiating commercial contracts and requests for proposals.
Provide legal advice to agreed timeframes relating to general corporate, commercial procurement contracts as well as governance and policy issues.
Shape risk strategies and maintain a proactive business risk register to safeguard company interests.
Act as a trusted advisor to support business leaders in identifying potential risks, upholding data protection, and compliance with local laws and Group guidelines.

The ideal candidate will have:
Tertiary Qualification in Law or a minimum of 3 years’ experience as a paralegal or legal counsel.
In-depth knowledge of Australian contract regulations and laws.
Experience in a contract management capacity, preferably in the Building/Civil/Construction activity.
Ability to interpret and discuss complex technical projects in contractual contexts
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and negotiation skills
Exceptional analytical ability with keen attention to detail
