Job description

Drive Operational Excellence in Power Transmission

ONBOARDING YOU TO THE COMPANY

At Nexans our global vision is to electrify the future. In Power Transmission, this means delivering the world’s longest and most complex HV subsea and land cable systems to connect nations and drive the global energy transition. We deliver EPCI turnkey projects anywhere in the world. This means we have the best tools, equipment and people with competence and skillset to produce, install and service those cables.

CHOOSING NEXANS

At Nexans, your work powers the global transition to renewable energy. We offer meaningful careers with purpose, backed by over a century of expertise in electrification. You’ll benefit from flexible work options, international mobility, strong development programs, private health insurance, competitive pensions, company cabins, and a culture that values inclusion, innovation, and wellbeing. Join us to electrify the future!

WELCOMING YOU TO THE TEAM

You will join the global PWR-T Lean Leader network, initially representing Installation.

Together with your functional sponsor (initially the VP of Installation) and the PWR-T Executive Committee, you will help shape how Lean is lived and practiced across the organization. Your mission is to turn strategy into action — improving quality, predictability, and simplicity in how we work, every day.

The preferred location is Oslo, with some travel expected. You will report to the Senior Transformation Project Manager responsible for Lean implementation in Power Transmission.

GETTING A FLYING START

You thrive in change environments and enjoy turning complexity into clarity. You’re comfortable working with senior leaders, engaging teams, and creating momentum around improvement initiatives.

You’ve delivered measurable results in project-driven organizations and bring a structured, hands-on approach to problem-solving. Coaching teams, facilitating workshops, and helping others succeed comes naturally to you. Experience with Lean or Six Sigma methods such as Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen, or variation reduction is a strong advantage — but mindset and drive matter just as much.

HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

In this role, you’ll work across functions to drive simplification and continuous improvement within PWR-T operations.

You will:

  • Lead Lean activities such as Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen workshops
  • Develop and embed Standard Management Routines
  • Coach teams to improve quality, predictability, and efficiency
  • Contribute to shaping the PWR-T Lean management system

Your work will directly support the four transformation pillars: Quality, On Time, One Team, and Focus

YOUR STARTING POINT

We know that the best candidates don’t always match every requirement listed, but here are some examples of the background and experience that can help you thrive in the role:

  • You have a bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, operations, or a related field.
  • You have around 5+ years of relevant experience
  • You have strong analytical and structured problem solving skills.
  • The ability to work closely with senior leaders and influence across teams
  • You have strong facilitation and team leadership skills
  • In this role the likelihood of succeeding will increase if you have experience in Operational Excellence frameworks including Lean and Six Sigma
  • Fluent in English, – oral and written, Norwegian or French is a plus
  • Your personal values are aligned to those of Nexans: Pioneer, Dedicated, United.

OUR GROWTH CULTURE

At the individual level our growth-culture is built on trust and collaboration. We wish to welcome you as a valuable member of our team. To enable impact, we believe in freedom and autonomy at the individual level at same time as we encourage knowledge sharing, team-work mentality and can-do attitude amongst our team members.
