VPC Operations Specialist - Vehicle Processing Center
Location: Flexibility to travel between Zeebrugge and Antwerp
Your responsibilities
The Vehicle Preparation Center (VPC) in Zeebrugge serves as the first stop for new vehicles destined for dealerships/points of sale throughout Europe. Vehicles will be unloaded from vessels, inspected, completed with accessories, where necessary repaired, loaded on trucks and trains to be shipped to their point of sales across Europe. For this, we need a responsible person to manage the vehicles distribution yards prior to delivery to the European markets’ end customers.
•Support to manage the operations of the Zeebrugge + Antwerp yard for the European distribution of new vehicles and collaborate with the car-handling service provider on activities such as unloading and loading, tallying, transportation within the port area, and other related activities.
•You support service activities such as vehicle inspections, installation of accessories, Pre-Delivery Inspection (PDI), factory campaigns and vehicle repairs.
•You evaluate vehicle damages, provide accurate problem descriptions to stakeholders on-site and the company.
•You assess reworks performed by repair service workshop and continuous improvement, streamline and update workflows, inspection and work instructions are also part of your responsibilities.
• You act as the one-point-of-contact for the company in Zeebrugge and grow into a proactive intermediary between manufacturer, Europe organisation and partners at the port.
•Review and pre-approve repairs done under warranty
•Ensure correct steering of technical issues with vehicles (parts ordering, Flying Doctor support, regular status update to stakeholders)
•You will become familiar and comply with the port’s standards, customs, usages and regulations.
