Job Description

We are currently seeking a Financial Accountant to join MSX in Budapest. It is not only an Accountant position but you can participate in collaborating with internal and external partners to resolve issues/requests.

What you will be doing as a Financial Accountant Specialist:

Accounts Payable:

  • Processing and reviewing incoming supplier invoices
  • Ensuring correct encryption and approval of all invoices in accordance with company policies

Accounts Receivable:

  • Recording and monitoring of incoming payments, reconciling receivables
  • Tracking overdue receivables and informing customers of outstanding amounts
  • Accurate recording of all receivables in the accounting system and dispatch of customer invoices
  • Resolving discrepancies and handling customer inquiries regarding invoices and payments

Bank Accounting:

  • Conducting regular bank reconciliations to compare company records with bank statements
  • Accurate recording and updating of bank transactions in the system
  • Timely preparation and processing of payments
  • Monitoring of cash flows and bank activity
  • Supporting audit processes by providing the necessary bank statements and Reconciliation Reports

Reporting and other tasks:

  • Supporting monthly and annual closing procedures, balance sheet reconciliations
  • Implementing and adhering to financial policies and procedures
  • Management of advance payments, fixed assets, mobile phones, and intra-group invoicing, intercompany postings

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Supporting the Finance Manager in activities and reconciliation processes with external accounting and tax advisors
  • Supporting the Finance Manager with general ledger accounting and regulatory compliance

Preferred experience

  • Finance/accounting diploma
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in finance/accounting/reporting in an international company (preferably in a medium-sized company)
  • Experience with payroll accounting and taxation
  • Strong English skills (written and spoken), Czech or Polish language is an advantage 
  • Chartered accountancy registration
  • Reliability in meeting deadlines
  • Team-oriented problem-solving skills, good communication skills
  • Expert MS Office skills (especially Excel) 
  • Experience with ERP programs (etc.: JD Edwards), accounts payable and receivable, and the preparation of financial reports
  • Experience in international accounting (IFRS)
