Job Description

As an Account Assistant Apprentice, you’ll play a key part in supporting our CTO Organisation with budget management, financial efficiency, and forecasting. You’ll work closely with our leadership team, helping to manage the CTO budget and providing valuable insights to drive smart financial decisions. You’ll also collaborate with our Global Finance Team, gaining exposure to international finance operations and best practices. A unique aspect of this role is working with our Cloud Centre of Excellence, where you’ll learn how cloud services are billed and help ensure accurate and efficient cost management. This is a fantastic opportunity to develop your finance skills in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Supporting the CTO leadership team with budget planning, tracking, and forecasting
  • Assisting with monthly and quarterly financial reporting
  • Engaging with the Global Finance Team to ensure alignment and share best practices
  • Consolidating contracts, identifying contract owners and documenting spend and renewal details
  • Working with the Cloud Centre of Excellence to understand cloud billing and support cost allocation
  • Helping to identify opportunities for financial efficiency and process improvement
  • Using Excel and finance systems to analyse data and prepare reports
  • Building relationships across IT, finance, and cloud teams
  • Learning on the job while studying towards your Level 3 Assistant Accountant Apprenticeship

Preferred experience

  • A keen interest in finance, technology, and how they work together
  • Strong attention to detail and a love of numbers
  • Good communication skills and a collaborative approach
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, especially Excel
  • Eager to learn, with a proactive and positive attitude
  • 5 GCSEs (or equivalent) at grade 4/C or above, including Maths and English
  • You must be eligible to work in the UK and not already hold a Level 3 (or higher) qualification in accountancy

Working pattern and location

  • 40 hours per week
  • Monday-Friday
  • Hybrid working
  • Ideal candidate location: Colchester
