Our codebase is primarily published on GitHub, where we also manage tickets and issues and organize and plan our sprints. We prioritize asynchronous work and utilize GitHub issues for technical discussions to facilitate efficient communication. Additionally, we actively interact with our community and users on the platform to enhance our product.

Our interview process typically involves several steps.

  • 45 min screening call with our Talent Acquisition Manager, to discuss practical subjects such as availability, salary, and job scope expectations.
  • 1h video call with the Hiring Manager and another team member you will work with.
  • Case study. We generally ask for it to be completed within a specified time frame, followed by a 60-minute debriefing session.
  • 1h video call with two people from teams you will engage with daily to speak about your experience and skill set and assess your alignment with Meilisearch values.
  • We conduct reference checks before making a hiring decision.

Depending on the role you are applying for and the team it involves, the process might change a bit. What is important to keep in mind is we try as much as possible to avoid bias by having at least two people present during the interviews after screening calls. This is also a good way for us to make people from different teams feel involved in the company's growth.
