Job Description

Marketing Controlling Supervisor directly reports to Head of FP&A and is and indirectly supports the Leadership Team and Owner Operators through reporting, interpreting and analyzing actual and planned marketing spend across 3 countries (Czech Republic, Slovakia and Ukraine) and
preparing monthly US GAAP reporting for McDonald’s Czech Republic in order to make informed business decisions.

As a Controller, you will be the linking pin to Marketing and Finance and will manage the daily
operation from a finance and controlling point of view.

As a Business Partner you will be a key contributor to definition and implementation digital and
marketing strategies.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning, budgeting & forecasting of marketing investments.
  • Execution of monthly financial closing activities in Marketing areas including creation/follow up of marketing reserves.
  • Manage approval process for projects.
  • Preparation of monthly management review on marketing investment, providing full visibility of variances (actual vs plans) related to projects.
  • Actively contribute to digital and delivery promotions by validating product profitability and expected ROI.
  • Evaluation of promo campaign effectiveness by comparing actual results with initial targets on sales and profitability.
  • Manage monthly closing process, perform corporate reporting per US GAAP standards for McDonald’s Czech Republic
  • Ensure tools adopted by McDonalds meet expectations with respect to efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Ensure quality financial information is used by the business for decision making.
  • Analyze the gaps, check data consistency, challenge results, identify risks / opportunities and propose corrective actions needed to reach budget's targets.
  • Partner with Marketing departments and cross functional teams. Providing timely and accurate financial information to key stakeholders for decision making purposes.
  • Partner with the market FP&A team and Global Controller Group to identify and implement opportunities to increase reporting efficiencies.
  • Continuously assess and strengthen all aspects of marketing controlling processes in partnership with marketing team to ensure proper controls, risk mitigations, information flow and decision logic.

Qualification:

Required Qualifications:

  • BA/BS degree in Accounting/Finance
  • 3+ years of accounting and/or finance experience
  • Advanced English knowledge
  • Strong reporting expertise under IFRS or US GAAP

Preferred Qualifications:

  • CPA, MBA preferred
  • Highest integrity and ethics
  • Strong computer and Excel skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills to interact with various disciplines and levels
  • Experience working well within a team
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Strong quantitative focus with experience in business trend analysis, product or promotion evaluation, market tests or general data analysis
  • Strong financial acumen and organizational skills
  • Excellent communication skills with experience effectively expressing ideas, both verbal and written
  • Effective & engaging presenter
