The Buyer, Direct Materials Europe is responsible for leading the sourcing of some packaging categories for approximately 35 million € (Total Direct spend approx.. 147 million €).

This role will lead supplier relationship development including monitoring performance versus expectations.

Will also be required to recommend and implement business allocations. This person will lead jointly with Procurement Director Direct Materials the sourcing strategy development, tactics and key activities for the category.

This person will be working closely with the Value Engineering team, supporting the technical optimization opportunities for packaging and ingredients. Will also work closely with his peers from the team to develop procurement synergies across categories and entities.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

He/she will manage multiple internal and external organizational relationships. The person will lead the overall supplier relationship strategy to minimize the company spend, while ensuring proper commercial treatment of suppliers, reinforcing internal policies, ethics, strategic approach with suppliers and with other company departments. Engage and collaborate cross-region with peers and other team to deliver best practices and top-line and bottom line results.

This role is reporting to the Procurement Director Direct Materials Europe.

• Drive cost focused strategy for Packaging and Ingredients spend area
• Commodity risk management and optimization programs for the categories
• Lead the sourcing strategy for its respective categories to deliver on-going cost savings targets
• Delivery of Sustainable Cost Advantage Program
• Build supplier relationship program for the relative markets to deliver significant value for McCain Foods
• Ensure company purchases in the spend pool comply with company internal controls requirements
• Build strong internal relationships with the different McCain team at supply chain and R&D levels

Profile description:

YOUR PROFILE:

• Master’s Degree, preferably in procurement, Business or Engineering.
• Ideally a first experience in packaging or direct material procurement in a CPG environment
