Job description

As our Founding Marketing Associate, you will be our first marketing hire—a true builder who rolls up their sleeves and gets things done. This is a high-impact role where you’ll wear multiple hats and help establish the foundation of our marketing function from the ground up.

You will:

  • Own end-to-end events management — from intimate roundtables with CHROs to industry conferences, handling logistics, promotion, and follow-up to drive pipeline and brand presence

  • Support podcast production and distribution — coordinate recordings, manage show notes and promotional assets, and amplify reach across channels

  • Craft compelling brand copy and website content — translate our AI-powered value proposition into clear, conversion-focused messaging that resonates with HR leaders

  • Create marketing collateral — develop case studies, one-pagers, that empower our sales team to close deals faster

  • Leverage AI tools to maximize efficiency — use cutting-edge AI platforms to accelerate content creation, research, and campaign execution (we practice what we preach!)

  • Product Marketing Fundamentals

  • Adapt and scale with us — as we grow, you’ll take on new strategic projects and help shape what marketing looks like at Maki

Preferred experience

You might be a strong fit if you:

  • Have 3-8 years of hands-on marketing experience — whether in B2B SaaS, agencies, or high-growth startups, you’ve done the work and know what moves the needle

  • Are a “doer” with a bias for action — you don’t wait for perfect; you ship, iterate, and improve. You’re comfortable working autonomously and figuring things out

  • Excel at marketing fundamentals — you can write sharp copy, manage complex project timelines, and execute campaigns that drive real business outcomes

  • Are comfortable with AI tools — you’re excited (not intimidated) by using AI to create content, automate workflows, and work smarter

  • Thrive in ambiguity and early-stage environments — you’re energized by building from scratch, wearing multiple hats, and having direct impact on company growth

  • Have strong communication and stakeholder management skills — you can collaborate cross-functionally with sales, product, and leadership while managing external vendors and partners

  • Are curious about HR tech and the future of work — bonus points if you understand enterprise software sales cycles or have worked in the HR/recruiting space
