The position

Job description

Location: New York City, Manhattan

Seniority: 5+ AE experience

Type: Full-time, Founding Team

As a Founding AE, you will:

Own the full sales cycle, from qualification to close.

Drive new business across large enterprise (fortune 2000 Companies)

Partner with the CEO and GTM team to refine our U.S. sales motion and playbook.

Champion strategic deals, often through multi-stakeholder RFPs and C-level engagements.

Bring Maki to the world’s most influential brands and talent organizations.

Preferred experience

You might be a strong fit if you:

Have 5+ years of sales experience, with a proven track record in B2B SaaS.

Have sold to mid-market or enterprise clients, and you’re eager to move upmarket.

Thrive in high-growth, early-stage environments where you can build from scratch.

Are deeply curious about AI and excited to sell a category-defining product.

Know what great looks like, perhaps you’ve been at a Series A/B rocketship, or are ready to leave one to go earlier and go bolder.

Are comfortable owning big numbers: you’ve closed six-figure+ deals, or you’re ready to level up into that motion.

Bonus points if you:

Have experience in sales-led growth motions for talent, HR tech, or AI-native products.

Have sold into Chief People Officers, TA leaders, or Innovation/AI teams.

✨ Why Maki

Huge market opportunity: We’re building a new category at the intersection of AI and HR tech.

Category-defining logos: Our first 30+ clients include Fortune 500s with global deployments and stellar ROI.

Ownership and impact: You’ll be the first AE in the U.S., with room to shape everything — from GTM strategy to culture.

Comp & equity: Competitive salary, uncapped commission, and generous equity.

Recruitment process

We move fast, while making sure it’s a great match on both sides. Here’s what to expect:

1. Intro Call – 30 minutes

A first conversation to get to know each other, align on expectations, and give you more context on Maki and the role.

2. Initial Interview – 45 minutes

Deep dive with our CEO, Maxime, focused on vision, GTM thinking, and your appetite to be part of a breakout company.

3. Sales Simulation – 1 hour

You’ll run a short discovery & pitch session based on a real Maki use case. We’re evaluating clarity, curiosity, storytelling, and enterprise instincts — not just polish.

4. Founder Interview - 30 minutes

Meet one of our founder’s to validate culture fit.

5. Final Wrap-Up

An offer call (and ideally celebration!) — or a transparent discussion on next steps.
