Job Description

As a Software Development Intern, you will work within our development team to design, implement, and optimize automated testing pipelines to ensure the quality, reliability, and robustness of our software solutions. These solutions interact extensively with laboratory databases, and your focus will be on creating a comprehensive testing framework to detect and address issues at every level of development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain automated testing pipelines (unit, functional, and end-to-end).
  • Collaborate with the development team to identify and address areas for improvement in software quality.
  • Write and execute tests to validate the integrity of the software and its interactions with laboratory databases.
  • Debug and troubleshoot software issues uncovered through testing.
  • Ensure test coverage for critical parts of the application and identify overlooked scenarios.
  • Document testing procedures, best practices, and results to promote an effective quality assurance culture.

Preferred experience

Requirements:

  • Currently pursuing (or recently completed) a degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related fields.
  • Strong programming skills (e.g., Python, or other common languages for automated testing).
  • Basic understanding of testing methodologies and software quality assurance principles.
  • Familiarity with databases and SQL; experience with laboratory databases is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Knowledge of testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Selenium, pytest, JUnit, etc.) is a strong asset.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and an eye for detail.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Good communication skills.
