The Learning Planet International (LPI) team is dedicated to building global partnerships and managing international projects that aim to transform education systems worldwide. Through collaborations with esteemed partners such as UNESCO, the United Nations University (UNU), and other influential organisations, the LPI works to create meaningful, sustainable educational initiatives. The team focuses on engaging diverse stakeholders, including youth leaders, educational innovators, and policymakers, to shape a more inclusive, equitable, and dynamic future for learning.
The Learning Planet Youth Design Challenge is a global competition recognising and supporting youth-led education projects. 60 finalists are selected to join an online training programme to advance their projects. This includes training in project development, communications and financing, with guidance and mentorship from global experts. At the end of the training, 12 finalists are selected as YDC Ambassadors.
In close collaboration with Ed Stevenette, Programme Manager, the intern will support the specifically the community and mentorship components of the Learning Planet Youth Design Challenge (YDC).
Your responsibilities:
Logistic management
Facilitate the connection between the mentors recruited for the programme and YDC finalists.
Ensure mentorship sessions are scheduled effectively, keeping track of mentor availability and participant progress. Monitor and follow up on mentorship sessions to ensure consistency and quality of engagement.
Maintain a tracking system via CRM (Airtable) for mentorship schedules, feedback, and progress updates.
Facilitating Peer Learning Sessions:
Organise and facilitate peer learning sessions to foster collaboration, knowledge sharing, and problem-solving among YDC finalists.
Ensure sessions are engaging and promote a supportive learning environment where participants feel comfortable sharing ideas.
Provide post-session summaries or resources to ensure key takeaways are accessible to all participants.
Animating the Community Platform:
Maintain the YDC community platform (Mighty Networks), ensuring all resources, updates, and materials are regularly uploaded and well-organized
Encourage active participation and engagement within the platform, ensuring that participants are motivated to share progress and insights.
Track user engagement and suggest ways to improve platform usage, providing regular reports on activity and engagement levels.

Qualifications
Technical Skills
At least 1 years of experience in community / project management
Preferably past experience in teaching and/or facilitating workshops online.
Native or proficient in English
Working with Google Apps & Microsoft Suite
