The People team at Wakam is a dynamic, highly collaborative unit of 9 HR professionals supporting a fast-growing and international organization. We work closely with business leaders to shape organizational success through strategic workforce planning, talent development, and operational excellence.
As a People Partner, you’ll join a forward-thinking team that includes a VP People, L&D Partner, Labour & Employee Relations Manager, Recruiter, Head of People Operations & Experience, and more. You’ll report to our Lead People Partner and support our France-based teams within a company of 240 employees — many of whom work remotely.
We’re looking for a strategic, hands-on People Partner who thrives in dynamic environments and is eager to take full ownership of their scope. This role is about more than just applying policies — you’ll be embedded in the business, supporting teams on everything from performance and internal mobility to compensation and organizational design.
Act as a trusted advisor to managers on people topics: workforce planning, organization design, feedback, conflict resolution, etc.
Collaborate with leadership to align HR initiatives with business goals.
Analyze HR metrics (attrition, surveys, KPIs) to drive data-informed actions.
Support AI-driven transformation initiatives and reskilling where needed.
Coach managers on applying HR policies and best practices effectively.
Drive the performance review process and support managers with development plans.
Coach leaders on team dynamics, internal mobility, and career growth.
Help implement career frameworks (career ladders, succession planning).
Support management training initiatives and prioritize training needs with the L&D Partner.
Lead the annual compensation review for your scope.
Guide salary and bonus decisions using market benchmarks.
Support recruitment with compensation benchmarking per role.
Partner with managers to manage conduct and performance issues.
Provide expert advice on French labor law and compliance.
Investigate employee complaints and help resolve complex ER cases.
Act as a bridge between the People team and business stakeholders during reorganizations and key initiatives.
Co-create and roll out HR policies with the wider team.
Help identify AI automation opportunities to improve HR efficiency.
Share on-the-ground business insights to help shape HR strategy.
5+ years in an HRBP role within fast-paced, evolving organizations.
Strong knowledge of French labor law and HR compliance.
Hands-on experience with compensation review processes.
Proven ability to manage talent development programs, succession planning, and leadership training.
Prior experience supporting tech or digital teams.
Bilingual in French and English (written and spoken).
Deeply curious about the business and motivated to understand how teams work.
Skilled in Excel, with a strong analytical mindset.
Proactive and excited to explore AI applications in HR.
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and managing change.
Not afraid to have difficult conversations when needed.
Agile, responsive, and able to shift priorities with ease.
