Job description

🧰Who are we?

Wakam is a B2B2C insurance company that creates white-label insurance solutions via its Play&Plug® technology platform for more than 80 partners. We provide most of our insurance products through API, and hosts white label insurance solutions via our Play&Plug technology platform.

With a footprint spanning 32 countries Wakam is the European leader in digital and embedded insurance.

Strongly committed to social responsibility, Wakam is a mission-driven company dedicated to “enabling transparent and impactful insurance".

🚀 About the Team

The Partnerships Control team sits within Wakam’s Risk & Internal Control Office, playing a pivotal role in ensuring the regulatory and contractual compliance of activities delegated by Wakam to its commercial partners — including brokers, MGAs, insurtechs, and Third-Party Administrators (TPAs).

Our mission goes beyond standard compliance. Wakam’s business model delegates key processes (underwriting, policy issuance, claims management) to partners, making control a strategic function at the heart of our operations. We conduct rigorous annual controls to ensure service quality, partner reliability, and risk mitigation.

🎯 Your Mission

As Partnerships Control Team Lead, you will lead Wakam’s end-to-end control program across its B2B2C ecosystem in 30+ countries. You will:

  • Manage the full control cycle according to established control plan.
  • Oversee the partnerships control team: manage a team of 4 controllers and a pool of external consultants, ensuring quality, prioritisation, and continuous development.
  • Plan and coordinate partnerships control activities, ensuring timely delivery aligned with Wakam’s commercial and regulatory objectives.
  • Enhance and evolve partnerships control methodology to reflect changing business needs, risk profiles, and regulatory expectations.
  • Leverage technology and AI tools to automate and strengthen control processes, improving accuracy and scalability.
  • Lead transversal collaboration with internal stakeholders (Risk, Legal, Compliance, Revenue, Partner Oversight) for mission alignment and follow-up.
  • Supervise control reporting: review deliverables, write executive summaries, and present outcomes to governance bodies.
  • Track action plans: ensure proper implementation of remediation measures and embed follow-up in the risk management framework.
  • Contribute to risk strategy: support risk mapping, incident analysis, and internal control systems with partnerships control insights.

🧠 What You Bring

  • A Master’s degree (Bac+5 or equivalent) in Risk Management, Audit, Finance, Insurance, or Engineering.
  • 10+ years’ experience in internal audit/control, partner/vendor control, or regulatory supervision — ideally in the non-life insurance sector or within consulting firms.
  • Strong command of insurance regulatory frameworks (Solvency II, EIOPA guidelines, etc.).
  • Proven team management experience, with demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop high-performing teams.
  • End-to-end audit or control process ownership — from scoping to reporting and remediation monitoring.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present findings clearly to C-level and governance committees.
  • Fluent in both English and French (spoken & written) is mandatory.
  • Familiarity or interest in AI/automation tools applied to internal control is a strong plus.

✨ Who You Are

  • A natural leader with strategic vision and operational discipline.
  • Known for your rigor, autonomy, and ability to navigate complexity.
  • Collaborative and persuasive — able to influence stakeholders across functions.
  • Analytical and methodical, with a passion for improving systems and compliance culture.
  • Tech-curious — open to AI-driven innovations in audit and control.
  • Resilient and adaptable — you thrive in evolving, fast-paced environments.
