Job description

Department : Research and Innovation - Lab Automation IT

Location: Ile de France, France

Contract Type: Permanent contract

Main Mission:

As a Tech Lead / Technical and Functional Project Manager, you will technically lead a development team within the Research and Innovation department . You will make key architectural decisions , ensure code quality , and manage projects to update and optimize the Lab Automation IT solution, in line with the team’s functional priorities . You will be the technical referent and the primary point of contact for the infrastructure, architecture, and cybersecurity teams . You will also be involved in managing functional laboratory automation projects , thus contributing to innovation at L’Oréal.

Responsibilities :

Technical Leadership (Tech Lead ):

  • Define and guide technical and architectural choices .
  • Guarantee code quality (code reviews , unit tests, integration tests, etc.).
  • Resolve complex technical problems and propose sustainable solutions.
  • Promote good development practices and continuous improvement .
  • Mentor and supervise developers , fostering their skills development .
  • Anticipate technological developments and propose innovative solutions.
  • Ensure agile and reliable deployment of developments via CI/CD pipelines.
  • Identify , propose, and implement solutions for technical debt remediation .

Architecture and Cybersecurity :
  • Ensure the consistency of developed solutions with L’ Oréal’s architectural standards and cybersecurity requirements .
  • Work closely with the architecture and cybersecurity teams to validate and guarantee the security and performance of applications.

Project Management:
  • Plan, organize , monitor, and document project progress .
  • Manage risks , issues, and dependencies .
  • Apply Agile principles and methods (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Prioritize projects in collaboration with IT governance .
  • Regular reporting on project progress and key indicators (KPIs).

Communication and Collaboration:
  • Ensure smooth and transparent communication with business teams , the development team , and governance .
  • Facilitate collaboration and communication between the various project stakeholders.


Required Skills :
  • Technical : Proficiency in the following technologies: Azure, C#, .NET, Docker, ReactJS , SQL, TypeScript , Git. Knowledge of software architecture principles ( microservices , REST APIs), cybersecurity best practices, and DevOps tools . Experience with unit and integration tests.
  • Methodological : Proven experience (5+ years ) in Agile project management (Scrum/Kanban).
  • Interpersonal : Excellent communication, collaboration, negotiation , and leadership skills . Ability to interact effectively with various stakeholders (business, technical , management).
  • Analytical : Strong analytical and synthesis skills . Ability to understand complex needs and translate them into high-performance technical solutions.
  • Linguistic : Fluent professional English ( reading , writing , speaking ).

Preferred experience

Profile:

  • Higher education in computer science ( Master’s degree or equivalent ).
  • At least 5 years of professional experience as a Tech Lead or experienced developer , ideally in the research or industrial sector .
  • Experience in the field of laboratory automation would be a major asset.
  • Knowledge of architectural standards and cybersecurity requirements .
  • Professional English ( reading , writing , speaking ).
