The position

Job description

The Head of Web Design is responsible for defining, managing, and continuously evolving L‑Acoustics’ global web experience within the Communications team, while also leading and overseeing the web design team.

This role ensures that the corporate website and digital platforms deliver a best-in-class user experience that supports brand storytelling, customer engagement, and business growth.

Working closely with Creative, Editorial, Digital Marketing, and Product Marketing, the Head of Web Design leads and manages a team of three while overseeing the design, governance, and continuous improvement of the global web ecosystem. The role combines strategic leadership, UX excellence, and strong collaboration with technical and content teams to ensure that L-Acoustics’ web platforms reflect the company’s premium brand and innovation.

Key Responsibilities:

-Web Experience & UX Leadership
As part of the Communications team, lead the design and evolution of L-Acoustics’ global web experience. Define user-centered design approaches including journey mapping, personas, information architecture, and wireframing to ensure intuitive and engaging digital experiences.

-Design Systems & Visual Consistency
Develop and maintain scalable design systems including components, tokens, and usage guidelines to ensure visual consistency across all web platforms. Oversee UI design standards including layout, typography, responsive grids, and interaction patterns.

-Collaboration with Communications & Marketing Teams
Work closely with Creative, Editorial, and Digital Marketing teams within Communications to ensure that web design supports content strategy, campaigns, and brand storytelling. Ensure the website effectively supports product launches, marketing initiatives, and strategic communication priorities.

-Front-End Design & Development Alignment
Collaborate closely with development teams to translate design into high-quality front-end implementations. Ensure design-to-development handoff is clear and efficient through structured specifications, component documentation, and design system governance.

-Accessibility & Performance Standards
Ensure web experiences follow accessibility best practices (WCAG standards) and maintain strong performance standards, including responsiveness, usability, and optimization aligned with modern web performance metrics.

-Research, Testing & Continuous Improvement
Drive a culture of user research and experimentation by applying UX research methods, usability testing, and experimentation frameworks. Use data and user insights to continuously improve engagement, usability, and conversion.

-Content & SEO-Driven Design
Partner with editorial and digital marketing teams to design content structures that support SEO, search intent, and content discoverability. Ensure page templates and information architecture support effective storytelling and strong content hierarchy.

-CMS & Platform Governance
Oversee the evolution of the website platform and CMS environment. Ensure publishing workflows, governance, and content management processes support efficient collaboration across global teams.

 

Technical Skillset:

  • UX & UI Design Expertise: User-centered design including journey mapping, personas, information architecture, wireframing, and prototyping; strong visual design skills (layout, typography, responsive grids, interaction patterns).
  • Design Systems & Accessibility: Experience building and maintaining scalable design systems and ensuring accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1 AA) across digital products.
  • Front-End & Design Delivery: Strong understanding of front-end principles (HTML, CSS, responsive design) and ability to collaborate closely with developers to translate designs into high-quality implementations.
  • Performance & Optimization Awareness: Knowledge of web performance best practices including Core Web Vitals, image optimization, and efficient front-end delivery.
  • UX Research & Experimentation: Ability to guide UX research, usability testing, and experimentation programs including A/B testing and conversion optimization.
  • Content & SEO-Driven Design: Experience designing information architecture and page structures that support SEO, content clarity, and strong user navigation.
  • Design Tools & Collaboration: Proficiency with modern design and collaboration tools such as Figma, FigJam/Miro, and structured design-to-development handoff workflows.
  • CMS & Platform Experience: Familiarity with enterprise CMS platforms (headless or traditional) and content publishing workflows including governance, localization, and preview environments.
  • Fluent in English & Business Level French
