Kraken powers some of the most innovative global developments in energy.

We’re a technology company focused on creating a smart, sustainable energy system. From optimising renewable generation, creating a more intelligent grid and enabling utilities to provide excellent customer experiences, our operating system for energy is transforming the industry around the world in a way that benefits everyone.

It’s a really exciting time in energy. Help us make a real impact on shaping a better, more sustainable future.

This role reports directly to the Director of Engineering Operations and serves as a key execution partner to the Engineering Directors across our global organisation.

Engineering Enablement & Our Key FocusWhat we do: We drive the big technical projects, initiatives and process improvements that speed up our entire engineering organisation. Our mission is to ensure every engineer across every product line is equipped with the best systems, processes and support to build, deploy and operate products securely and reliably.

Why we do it: Scaling engineering excellence means focusing on our internal systems. We aim to achieve a high-impact balance, enabling our engineers to deliver with speed and agility while maintaining the highest standards of safety, reliability and security. This is how we ensure the success of our big green dent mission by delivering the innovative technology that facilitates the transition to green technologies.

At Kraken, the Technical Programme Manager (TPM), Engineering Enablement plays a crucial role in coordinating complex initiatives across our global teams. You will drive the execution, planning and change management for high-priority technical projects that directly impact our global delivery capability and developer experience.

What you'll do

  • Project Leadership: You will lead and execute the planning and coordination for critical, organisation-wide projects that span multiple product lines (e.g. large-scale platform evolution, security or operational excellence initiatives).
  • System and Tooling Rollout: You will run the effective introduction and change management for major internal systems, tooling and infrastructure projects that support our engineering workflow globally.
  • Cross-Functional Coordination: You will manage complex initiatives that need close coordination across technical, commercial and client-facing teams, ensuring clear alignment and timely technical outcomes for the business.
  • Risk and Dependency Management: You will set up and manage the structure for tracking and fixing critical dependencies and risks that impact global delivery and technical integrity.
  • Developer Experience (DX) Improvement: You will drive the execution of initiatives aimed at enhancing the overall Developer Experience, turning feedback and usage data into real improvements in productivity, continuous integration, testing and overall engineering efficiency.
  • Process and Standards: You will put in place and formalise necessary technical standards, code practices and knowledge sharing across all teams to ensure reliability and maintainability.
  • Data and Planning Support: You will support crucial data activities concerning our people and planning, helping to clarify resource allocation and budget alignment for the engineering leadership team.
  • Stakeholder Alignment and Communication: You will manage communications and provide clear progress updates to senior stakeholders on project status, risks and impact against key metrics.
  • Talent and Development Support: You will support global talent initiatives by coordinating technical input and resources for training projects run by the L&D specialist, helping to drive cultural shifts towards a flexible, multi-skilled engineering workforce.
  • What will help

  • Leadership Partnership: Build strong, trusted relationships with Engineering Directors and senior leaders to influence technical direction.
  • Pragmatic Execution: Be comfortable driving significant shifts in how the organisation works by focusing on practical, high-impact solutions.
  • Balanced Delivery: Maintain the critical balance between delivering features quickly and ensuring the security, reliability and sustainability of our platform and operations.
  • Focus on Impact: Always keep productivity, security, reliability and ultimately the positive impact on our teams, clients and climate at the forefront of technical decision-making.
