We’re a technology company focused on creating a smart, sustainable energy system. From optimising renewable generation, creating a more intelligent grid and enabling utilities to provide excellent customer experiences, our operating system for energy is transforming the industry around the world in a way that benefits everyone.

It’s a really exciting time in energy. Help us make a real impact on shaping a better, more sustainable future.

About the Role

Kraken Solution Consultants are advocates of Kraken’s mission to use technology to make a big green dent in the universe!  We take clients on a journey to discover and understand Kraken - our product, our technology, the way we work and how we deliver.  We seek to understand our clients’ needs and goals and are passionate about helping meet them through our solutions.

We are looking for someone who already has proven experience in a pre-sales, solutions architect, or technical consulting role within the energy industry.

We are looking for independent workers, creative problem solvers and people-oriented communicators.

About the Team

We are a global team and our opportunities are distributed regionally. Our team consists of varying backgrounds and skillsets and everyone is strong in different areas, wearing different hats at different times, creating a dynamic team with members that complement each other.

What you'll do

  • Work together with our Sales leads to qualify the right opportunities and jointly plan how to advance and finalise a Kraken engagement.
  • Establish yourself as a trusted advisor to our clients, guiding them through understanding Kraken.
  • Deliver product workshops, often involving system demos, providing product knowledge and delivering how our product is solving challenges in the energy market.
  • Understand our clients’ needs and identify where there are product opportunities.
  • Develop a comprehensive understanding of Kraken’s features, capabilities, and differentiators.
  • Liaise with our product teams and stay on top of product roadmaps, developments and product direction.
  • Lead the creation of high-impact sales collateral, including proposals, presentations, and ad hoc materials that emphasise Kraken’s USPs.
  • Address and resolve functional and technical questions from prospective clients.
  • Own and contribute to RFPs and tender responses, particularly the functional and technical aspects.
  • Partner with sales leads, marketing, and product teams to provide customer insights and influence product roadmaps.
  • Conduct market and industry research to enhance prospecting strategies and pre-sales pitch development.
  • What you'll need

  • Proven experience in a pre-sales, solutions architect, or technical consulting role within the energy industry.
  • Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience in software implementation, systems architecture, or business analysis.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-based platforms and software solutions.
  • Proficiency in crafting compelling sales collateral, including proposals and technical documentation.
  • Ability to be resourceful, adaptable, and focused on delivering impactful outcomes.
  • Ability to build and maintain strong relationships with internal teams and external clients.
  • Analytical mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with tender response processes and delivering impactful RFP content.
  • Flexibility to travel as needed to support sales efforts.
  • Native level in Japanese, business level in English.
  • Even better if you had

  • Previous experience in the energy industry or working with utility companies.
  • Knowledge of emerging trends and challenges within the energy sector.
