Job description

Jus Mundi is a multilingual search engine powered by artificial intelligence and machine learning that revolutionizes the way lawyers conduct their research in international law and arbitration. Jus Mundi’s search engine is based on a thorough and up-to-date database currently composed of treaties and case documents in inter-State proceedings, IUSCT and Mixed Claims Commissions proceedings, investment arbitration, commercial arbitration and municipal judgments on enforcement and annulment of awards. Jus Mundi also provides other legal research tools: CiteMap, a user-friendly catalogue of interconnections between legal references; arbitrator analytics; a conflict checker and Wiki Notes.

Jus Mundi’s search engine relies heavily on the input of documents and the extraction of data. As an intern, you will work within the legal team in order to find and qualify the legal data available in the domain of international arbitration (commercial, investor-State and sports). The team is composed of lawyers, Legal Officers and legal interns. As part of the team, you will participate in expanding Jus Mundi’s database.

This internship is for 6 months starting starting beginning of April.

Main tasks include:
• Analyzing international documents (case documents and treaties) and extracting metadata (rules of arbitration, arbitrators, seat of arbitration…)
• Integrating case documents into the database
• Conducting various types of research for the legal team

Preferred experience

You are currently a law student interested in better understanding international law and arbitration through the lens of informatic and cognitive technologies. Knowledge in international law and arbitration (commercial and investor-State) is required.
