INCO Academy has partnered to make several technical courses accessible to people facing barriers to employment. The course program will boost the employability of the learners (with a focus on people from vulnerable backgrounds, such as refugees, women, un- and underemployed people, etc.), in the Energy Transition sector.

The (approx.) 10-week certificate program prepares learners for entry-level jobs in the Energy Transition, via an innovative curriculum developed by INCO.

Through hands-on practical workshops and exercises, learners will discover roles that require some green skills or support further development, to move to traditional green jobs, which are more likely to require prior green experience and technical green skills.

We’re looking for a preferably part-time Learner Coach to support our programs. In addition to the self-guided aspects of this online course, the role of the learner coach will be to support learners throughout their journey by contacting them frequently and building a supporting relationship with them. In the next 2 months, a total of 150 learners will be joining the program.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Providing practical guidance and comprehensive mentorship to learners throughout their training journey;

  • Proactively support learners’ motivation based on INCO Academy engagement methodology including 1:1 support sessions with learners and communication with learners on our communication platform;

  • Assist in onboarding sessions (course-specific topics);

  • Create course-specific curriculum materials for INCO Academy as needed and by using the design and templates provided;

  • Devise webinars: come up with topics and / or speakers for webinars related to your topic of expertise (sustainability related skills and educational or career guidance);

  • Participate in team meetings and take part in professional development activities;

  • Implementing and managing the organization of in-person event (such as job dating), if applicable;

  • Bringing support to INCO in its business development activities in South Africa.


Preferred experience

Preferred experience:

  • A natural people person and genuine interest for people’s wellbeing;

  • A passion for coaching and making a difference to the lives of others;

  • Skilled in delivering motivational, balanced and constructive feedback;

  • Ability to work remotely while maintaining close links with the core team through regular and transparent reporting;

  • Hands-on experience with running online meetings;

  • Ability to foster strong relationships with both learners and outreach employability and education partners;

  • Confident in delivering appropriate feedback to learners;

  • Excellent communication, organisational and time-management skills;

  • A previous experience with Learning Management System is a plus;

  • Experience working with learners facing barriers to employment is a plus;

  • Empathy and a positive attitude;

  • Ability to communicate in a clear and precise way;

  • Basic knowledge of energy transition or sustainable economy is required;

  • Fluency in English is required.
