The Senior Expert, Export Control role at Helsing is crucial for ensuring comprehensive compliance with all export control regulations. This role will provide expert advice to project managers, conducts training, and is co-responsible for the implementation and maintenance of Helsing's internal control program. It also includes active communication with authorities and various stakeholders to facilitate compliance and manage permit requirements.
Operational assurance and monitoring of compliance with export control regulations (national, European and US) within the company, as well as taking over projects for a defined area of responsibility
Coordination within projects of the specialist departments or independent responsibility for applying for German export/transfer licenses, preparation of license applications to the BAFA
Operational export control processing of programs and projects, including within the framework of German and U.S. (re-)export control law
Approval of export control error codes and deliveries within the scope of export controls
Support for IT projects
Communication with German or US authorities in the context of export control, customers, logistics service providers, suppliers and internal departments in case of questions regarding license applications or other issues
Foreign trade law review of licensing requirements for technology transfer and goods exports, shipments and services in accordance with applicable law
Classification of goods according to national and international regulations in accordance with the specifications of the internal control program
Coordination with the specialist department and independent application for information on the list of goods and other requests Inquiries to the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA)
Foreign trade law review of the licensing requirement for technology transfer and goods exports, transfers and services in accordance with applicable law
Implementation of regular training and awareness-raising measures
Determining the amount of training required for the projects supported
Co-responsible for the implementation of the internal control program
Application for German export/transfer licenses, preparation of license applications to the BAFA, as well as their administrative management Tracking and condition monitoring of export and transfer licenses
Assumption of permit management for German and U.S. Helsing permits in the defined area
Obtaining international import certificates and end-use certificates
Requesting information on the list of goods and other requests Inquiries at the Federal Office of Economics and Export Control (BAFA)
